STAFF

14. GENERAL REMARKS

(1) Emphasis of veterinary education being on practical, instruction and demonstration must be ,carried out in smallgroups; the number of teachers must be adequate for suchinstructions to be carried out effectively.

(2) The teachingstaff of the deptts. in a veterinarycollegeshall be whole-time and non-practicing.

(3) The number of teachers shown is ideal; however aminimum of four teachers of atleast two categories shall beessential and in position. The departments having extension& other services attached, shall have additional facultymembers.

Additional staff will be required where post-graduateeducationis impa, rted.More staff will be required where workinvolves patient care, clinical, laboratory and field work isheavy or of specialised nature.

(4) To ensure exposure of under-graduate students toexperienced teachers, it is essential to provide adequatenumberof seniorposts (Professor,Associate Professor/Reader)in every deptt. No Department shall function without at leastoneProfessor. ;-
