I believe it is very important that parents hear directly from the board on matters of the school. Parents have a vested interest since this is where their children are being educated. I would like parents to seriously consider membership into the association. If you would like more information do not hesitate to give me a call and ask me your questions. Also keep the Board in your prayers, that they may follow God’s leading and that God’s direction for TCS will be felt by all and decisions can be made in a way that pleases Him. As teachers were busy working on school related business yesterday, I hope you enjoyed spending some extra time with your children. Just a reminder that as the weather gets more brisk and wintery that you please make sure that your children have warm enough clothes to be outside. FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK

Thank you to all for coming out to our parent meetings last week. I believe it is very important that parents hear directly from the board on matters of the school. Parents have a vested interest since this is where their children are being educated. I would like parents to seriously consider membership into the association.

The fresh air is important for them and they are expected to be outside morning and afternoon for recesses. Hats and mittens should be important parts of their wardrobe by now. facts (+3, +4, etc.). mrs hudson is declaring war on poorly written sentences this week we will be diligently reminded to put capital letters at the beginnings and on names and we will use periods question marks and exclamation marks at the end otherwise it is hampers communication parents please help by checking your childs work for this before it returns to school thank you (Feel free to have your child copy and correct the above paragraph and return it to me. Mrs. Lise Bible: We continue our lessons on Samuel, focusing on the Israelites wanting a King like the rest of the nations around them. Memory work for Monday the 25th is to have the words to “This Peaceful Night’ memorized. Grade 3 LA: The grade 3 class is having fun learning about fun folk tales and performing for each other. We have completed one set of tales and are now working on another. These plays have a lot of play on words so we are discussing this while practicing our lines. Computers: I will be checking agendas for amount of keyboarding done at home for the month of November on Wednesday.

Ms Miedema – Grade 4 Music & French Great job on the recorder playing tests! I can tell students are practicing regularly. Keep it up! We’re getting ready for our performance at the Christmas concert. Year 2: New notes: low D and C#, practice #38-41 & Sheep Fast Asleep Year 3: practice Jesu, Joy, Sheep Fast Asleep, & Angels We Have Heard on High

Ms Chiang – Science Last week, the students had time to work on their animal habitats. We will have one more class period to finish up the last of the details. What doesn’t get done in class, will then be expected to be finished at home. On Friday, we will be presenting our habitats to the class.

MISS CHIANG – GRADE 1/2 What interesting November weather. We have had nice warm weather, bitter cold weather, and various forms of precipitation. Please

help your child to be prepared for all types of weather as it can change drastically throughout the day. At this point of the school

year, your child should also have a pair of indoor running shoes. This will help us keep our classroom clean as well as allow them to

participate safely in gym class. Please ensure your child has their shoes at school.

In Math, we will be finishing up our review of coins, money and temperature. This is great math that can easily be continued at home.

Simply ask your child to tell you the time on an analogue clock, or allow them to count out the coins when paying for groceries.

In Reading, both grade one and two have been doing a great job identifying the beginning, middle and end of a story. Help your child

deepen their understanding of the books they read at home by asking them what happened at the beginning of the story, the middle

and the end. This will help them to recall the important parts of the book.

In Gym, we have begun our basketball unit. The students have done a great job dribbling the ball. They all demonstrate great

sportsmanship as they encourage each other to keep trying, even though it can be somewhat frustrating when the balls bounce off in

different directions. Well done everyone!

Show and Tell: Group A: Student’s choice

Bible: Students continue to do a wonderful job on their memory work, which is due on Friday. The two songs, Child so Lovely and One

Peaceful Night, are sounding just lovely! We had a terrific celebration on our Bible Friday and a special thanks to the Spagnolo Family

for sending in the amazing Bible card games. They were awesome! This week we will finish our prayer puppets and keep working on

learning the books of the New Testament- we're almost there!

Mrs. Lise

Socials: Grade 1/2 are working hard. Each week we have been learning about a different holiday in Canada. This week we will focus on

God for providing us with many blessings including a Christian school that we may attend. Psalm 50:1 tells us “the Mighty

“...for the world is mine, and all that is in it.”
