Eligibility

Nonprofit organizations must hold recognized, charitable status in order to be eligible for a software donation. Eligible organizations will operate on a not-for-profit basis and have a mission to benefit the local community that could include, but is not limited to: • Improving social welfare• Preserving or restoring the environment• Amateur sports organizations • Private Foundation• Faith based organizations with a valid charitable status are now

eligible for donations for their broader religious activities.

The following types of organizations are not eligible for the Microsoft Software Donation Program: • Government organizations• Educational institutions• Healthcare organizations • Political, labor, or fraternal organizations• Commerce and Trade associations without charitable aims or with

activities benefitting only members
