THE ONES AND THE OTHERS BALLET DE MARSEILLE & ICKAMSTERDAMEmio Greco & Pieter C. Scholten The ones and the others is our battle cry. A physical cry in a landscape of crisis. It will be the first major co-production of Ballet National de Marseille and ICKamsterdam. Moreover, this production marks 20 years of collaboration among ourselves, Emio Greco and Pieter C. Scholten. 30 dancers: 25 from Marseille and 5 from Amsterdam join in the search for the extreme and the minimal. Played by 18 comedians and 4 musicians, this production does not tell one story, but many. Kori Kori defends the idea of all for one. In the manner of an operatic chorus where voices of different styles sound in unison – a new voice rises up; a voice which would not exist without the combination of these talents.

In the history of theatre, the chorus often represents the mass as a passive or active witness, rarely master of its destiny. Kori Kori wants to give it the main role: a chorus of men and women.

Sitting alone in a bar is usually rather depressing, but if there is only one bar stool it’s actually a privilege. The smallest pub in the world. Built on a wooden pallet one square meter. The interior looks like an authentic Flemish bar with sports cups, mottos and a darts board and… it’s still allowed to smoke inside! This bar is delivered with barman, beer and gin as standard. The largest number of drinkers at one time was achieved by a bunch of 9 crazy Spaniards who all succeeded in squeezing themselves in. Can anyone do better?!
