Of Deception & Witchcraft

The things that you know are not what you see.

Patience, friend, as what you seek soon comes

to be. For now, just wait, and read a while;

mayhap our antics will bring you a smile.

Page 2: Of Deception And Witchcraft

Witchcraft settled softly onto the island,

late in the night. A pair of fair-haired

young ones, light in deed and complexion

alike, came to the edge of the town, on the

night the moon does not shine and the

ferry does not run. They settled at the

house of Ivy Phantasma, married Ivy

Winchester; a house that would scarce

notice the two teens, replacing the twins

who had left for Phantasma University that

very morning.

Page 3: Of Deception And Witchcraft

Blythe, adopted Carter, was the first to notice.

Walking at night, leaving the chaotic house and

home of wild Lexi and newborn twin boys,

looking for peace. She met them on the dark

street near her home.

Come daylight, she was ensnared by the charms

of the warlock of the pair, not to escape again.

Not all that shines gold is fully good, and magic

often plays games with Fate.

Page 4: Of Deception And Witchcraft

College. A massive Greek establishment on

the edge of campus with Alec and Aurora,

the magical twins, Blythe, Lexi, Arthur, and

three brand-new customs for breeding

purposes.

Alec and Blythe were engaged quickly and

without a second thought; as were Aurora

and Arthur. College flew by around them.

Lexi, too, got engaged, to one of the

customs by name of Ash Lancaster (Their

feature chapter is up next).

Page 5: Of Deception And Witchcraft

Graduation is past. Homes are bought. Alec goes back to the

magical research he was working on in college, leaving Blythe

alone in the mostly empty house.

Blythe, are you all right?

Blythe: “It’s like the early years, before Alex found me. All

alone.

Alec. Your fiancée is downstairs.

Alec: “Busy. Not now.”

Alec. I’m warning you.

Alec: “Go away. I’m serious. I’ll curse you.”

You can’t curse me, but whatever. On your own head be it.

Page 6: Of Deception And Witchcraft

Why hello, Arthur. Nice to see you. Pity those airheaded

magical brats showed up, you two are adorable.

Arthur: “It’s okay, Blythe. At least you have a date for the

wedding now.”

Blythe: “I guess. I almost wish I could end it, but Alec is so

sweet when he actually pays attention to me…”

Where would you go, Blythe? Arthur is (ensnared by)

engaged to his twin sister.

Arthur: “Blythe…you look BEAUTIFUL in that dress!”

Behave, you two. Or, better yet…don’t.

Page 7: Of Deception And Witchcraft

A night wedding in the garden. How romantic. Looks like

you’re giving Julianna ideas. (How did she end up at this

party?!)

Alec: “Oof!”

Blythe: “Are you calling me fat?”

Alec: “No.”

Well, not yet. Hehehehehe. Alec, you’d best get her upstairs

to bed, don’t you think?

Alec: “I have important things to work on. Perhaps later.”

On your own head be it.

Page 8: Of Deception And Witchcraft

Blythe: “Ugh. Still feeling sick from too much cake. I

shall play a song about my life.”

Something you want to share with the audience? Like

maybe why you and Arthur disappeared for a bit the week

before the wedding?

Blythe: “I’m so lonely all the time…”

No? Okay. Have you and Alec even seen each other since

the wedding?”

Blythe: “…Since I left my baby behind…”

I’ll take that as a no. Where did you learn Blue Bayou?

Oh well, it’s not important.

Page 9: Of Deception And Witchcraft

Well, Arthur does not seem to share that problem.

Getting around, aren’t we, Mr. Phantasma?

Arthur: “Stuff it. And bug off; I am trying to be

alone with Aurora.”

Aurora: “You heard the man. Move it.”

I do not recall speaking to you, you little witch.

Aurora: “So smite me. You’re taking his baby with

me.”

Great. Pregnant already. Fine, darling; you are safe

for now. Arthur…good luck.

Page 10: Of Deception And Witchcraft

Blythe: “OMG!”

I see the little one is on the way already.

Blythe: “I must check something. How do the ‘babies’ even

work?”

Alec: “I’m gonna be a dad!”

Ohhhhh. Neither of you has been around any kind of children

ever. You have NO IDEA, do you?

Alec: “What?”

Blythe: “What?”

Never mind. Happy parenting; I’ll be back later…

Page 11: Of Deception And Witchcraft

Blythe: “OWWWWWW!!!”

Aaron (visiting; we have no idea why): “OMG! Why is this

happening?”

Arthur: “It’s all cool. Why am I here again?”

You know very well why, Mr. I-have-seven-half-siblings. You

should know how this works. Are you okay, Blythe?

Blythe: “I have a baby! A baby girl!”

Arthur: “I feel a weird connection to the child of my one-

night-stand during both our engagements.”

Gee, I wonder why. Go say hello to your daughter.

Page 12: Of Deception And Witchcraft

Alec: “I am told that this infant arrived today. Interesting.”

Yup. Any further comments, or are you going back to your

studies?

Alec: “Studies are over. Now I DO. I must make spells

and ingredients!”

Okay. Have fun! (Can he not see brown hair and tan skin?

Seriously, a pale blonde and a pale raven producing a brown

kid?)

Blythe: “Sweet dreams, Rochelle.”

That’s my girl. You’ll be a beautiful mother, Blythe. Take

care of her, no matter what, okay?

Page 13: Of Deception And Witchcraft

Is it that time already? They grow up so fast.

Blythe: “Guys? Hey! Birthday time!”

Alec: “Yayyyyy!!!!”

Aurora (That’s Arthur’s arm, right on the edge): *you are

under my spell. Never to leave.*

Rochelle: *sparkle*

Well, aren’t you a little beauty. I think I know a young man

across town you would fit well with…

Blythe: “Stay away from my little girl, and especially her love

life.”

Page 14: Of Deception And Witchcraft

Blythe: “Say ‘wizard’!”

Rochelle: “?”

Don’t worry. Not all of them are brilliant.

Blythe: “What are you talking about? My baby is perfect.”

The one in front of you or the one on the way? When was

that, anyway?

Blythe: “Oh, that came up last night. Rochelle is getting a

sibling!”

I trust this one is Alec’s? Would have to be; you haven’t left the

house in weeks. A warlock’s firstborn…I’ll have to keep a close

eye on this one.

Page 15: Of Deception And Witchcraft

Arthur: “Hello, Rochelle! Such a pretty

baby…soon you’ll be old enough to come and play

with your siblings! Erm, cousins.”

Siblings? Aurora had her baby?

Arthur: “Yeah, ages ago. Little Rochelle’s cousins!”

No, no, siblings was correct. So how big is the little

one? Big enough to live without Mom and young

enough not to remember would be perfect…

Arthur: “Come next door and visit them!”

Page 16: Of Deception And Witchcraft

Twins! Should have caught on by your use of plurals, I

suppose.

Arthur: “Turn around.”

Where did you get a third one?

Arthur: “Triplets!”

Dang. Smart lad like you, could have handled twins, but

three…

Aurora: “Problem?”

Just witches. Have fun in chaos-land. Spawning three at

once…you’re mad as a hatter.

Page 17: Of Deception And Witchcraft

Growing up already? You thought babies were bad,

wait until you’re in a house with three toddlers…

Arthur: “No problems so far. I love seeing all of

them when I come home from work.”

Really? Aurora?

Aurora: “I have nothing to say to you.”

Ah-ha. Leaving the wife alone with the terrors

while we go off to work and to hang out next door.

Typical male.

Page 18: Of Deception And Witchcraft

So, I never asked their names. Which one is that, Aurora?

Aurora: “This is our boy, Brody.”

And those two?

Arthur: “Erin and Nicole. Erin’s in pink.”

I will refrain from commenting on the rather unfortunate

frog faces. Maybe they’ll grow up better. Arthur, have you

been wearing those glasses all your life to hide that from me?

Arthur: “I’m a Family Sim. Mom said if I wanted kids, I

had to wear them.”

Unfortunately, she was right. Ah well, at least we have some

interest in the gene pool now.

Page 19: Of Deception And Witchcraft

Unlike this fine young fellow.

Blythe: “I have a son!”

Alec: “I was here! I delivered my own son! I am so proud of myself !”

Excellent. Now…firstborn son of a warlock. Green eyes, black

hair…I will be forced to name him Harry. No other choice.

Blythe: “Why is Harry so bad?”

Because my fandoms stay out of this. I have rejected the Standard

Fangirl Lifestyle; I am not licensed to re-use names from fandom

literature.

Alec: *phfffbt*

Harry: *giggle*

Page 20: Of Deception And Witchcraft

Blythe: “Drink up, Harry. Grow up to be a big, strong wizard

like Daddy.”

Wizardy isn’t genetic, Blythe. Although I really don’t see that

child escaping without Alec passing it on…where is Alec?

Blythe: “Haven’t seen him. I hope he’ll be home for Rochelle’s

party tonight…”

That’s right, Rochelle is growing up again. Invite Arthur, and

Aurora if you must.

Blythe: “Why?”

Because they deserve a break from that menagerie they call

home.

Page 21: Of Deception And Witchcraft

Rochelle: “I’m bored. Father won’t enchant my dolls to do

anything useful.”

You can go out later when it actually stops snowing. For now, I

need you to stay out of the way…your mother has a special

visitor.

Rochelle: “When is Harry going to be big enough to play with?

Tomorrow night; don’t worry. Just STAY THERE. Rhett

Casanova, we meet again.

Rhett: “Have me met?”

Actually not sure. In that case: LADIES AND GENTLEMEN;

THE NEXT ERIK PHANTASMA: RHETT CASANOVA!!!

Page 22: Of Deception And Witchcraft

See? Snow. In daylight. Go out and play

Rochelle…and don’t wake your mom.

Rochelle: “Do you wanna build a snowman…”

Great. Frozen EVERYWHERE.

Rochelle: “I could sing Christmas music.”

How do you even know what Christmas is? I never

installed Holidays. And don’t you dare; it’s the

middle of spring out here.

Rochelle: “Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow…”

Page 23: Of Deception And Witchcraft

Hiya Harry! Ready for your big day?

Alec: “Babies can’t talk.”

Shut up. I speak baby. Sim baby specifically.

Harry: *goo*

That’s my boy. Get ready to sparkle!

Harry: *sparkle*

Well aren’t you handsome. You, my fine young lad, will go

places.

Blythe: “You can admire him later; it’s bedtime.”

Page 24: Of Deception And Witchcraft

Well, if Rochelle is getting bigger, I know some other little

ones that should be as well…how are you three?

Erin: “Do you think it’s safe to go up?”

Nicole: “I don’t know…Mom said not to.”

Brody: “I don’t hear anything else, though.”

Something going on upstairs?

Nicole: “Mom said not to bother her today.”

Erin: “We’re getting another brother!”

Brody: “And about time, too.”

Page 25: Of Deception And Witchcraft

So Aurora, I heard you were expecting. How many kids are

you planning on subjecting to the loss of their mother when

I get around to smiting you?

Aurora: “Enough to where I know you won’t. I know

you…you’re a witch, too. And as witchy as witchy gets,

you’ll never be cruel to children who don’t deserve it.

That means your plan only works until the little brats grow

up enough to start sassing me.

Aurora: “Suits me. I just want to see them grow up as much

as I can.”

*grumble* FAMILY SIMS *grumble*

Page 26: Of Deception And Witchcraft

Ah, so here is the little boy the triplets were wanting. Hello,

Uther.

Aurora: “Uther is a horrible name.”

Yeah, my sister thinks so, too. I think it’s adorable. I already

like him better than Brody.

Brody: “Hey!”

Aurora: “Turn around, though.”

Twins. Excellent. Aren’t you just the queen of multiple

births. These are the only two, right?

Arthur: “Uther and Brandi, yup!”

Page 27: Of Deception And Witchcraft

Alec: “I think my son is a little slow.”

Harry: <I am fast! Someday I shall be fastest! Why is this

strangely dressed man still insisting upon my repeating

sounds?>

Keep telling yourself that, Alec. Although I’d take a break

for now…babies can’t study stuff all day like you.

Alec: “Very well. Son, remain here. Your nursery is the best

place for you.”

Harry: <Miniature peoples! I do so like this game. Sister

Dear is interesting as well, I suppose.>

Rochelle: “And then the Daddy gets mad, because Uncle

Robin was sleeping in his spot!”

Page 28: Of Deception And Witchcraft

Rochelle: “Aww man. I only got a C.”

Don’t worry, kiddo. It’s still your first day, between snow and

weekends. Blythe, sporting the maternity again, I see.

Blythe: I don’t understand. This couldn’t have happened…it’s

not possible…

Shh. It’s entirely possible. You just don’t remember. I’m sorry

that had to happen to you, but that’s the way things are. You’re

due tonight, I think that might help.

Blythe: “Okay…OWWWW!!!!!”

That’s my girl. Don’t panic. Although stay away from Alec

for a while if you get what I think you might…he’s getting

more observant…

Page 29: Of Deception And Witchcraft

Blythe: “Another daughter!”

Welcome to the family, Desayuna. Kinda wished you’d

gotten green eyes, but I’ll take it…you’re still beautiful.

Blythe, take her upstairs and out of the way. This is not

a child you want to parade around.

Blythe: You haven’t set up a new room yet!

Just put her in the nursery. Harry’s growing up and

moving out tonight; he’ll never miss his crib.

Harry: “Want my bed! Waahh!”

Stuff it. I am not afraid to call you a brat.

Page 30: Of Deception And Witchcraft

Harry: <Father, the candles are down here. Can I grow up

now?>

Alec: (Who is that strange person dancing?)

Probably one of the Carter boys Blythe helped raise. Let the

boy closer to his cake so he can blow out the candles.

Alec: “Right, yes, of course.”

Harry: “My outfit stinks.”

Maybe so, but your “birthmark” is perfect. Cannot have a

Harry without a lightning bolt, and my artwork is

FABULOUS.

Page 31: Of Deception And Witchcraft

Rochelle: “Such a pretty boy. Now, since Desayuna isn’t big

enough yet, looks like I’ll just have to use you to test out my new

makeups!”

Harry: “Thanks but no thanks, Ro…I have a party to go to.”

Really? Whose? Oh, yeah! *PARALLEL TIMELINE* Amadeus

and Kyrii becoming kids! Have fun!

Rochelle: “I wanna go!”

No. You’re not part of that yet. You’re a little older. Maybe when

all five of you are teens.

Harry: “Five?”

Nope. Spoilers. You saw nothing. Move along.

Page 32: Of Deception And Witchcraft

This is where I leave you.

Five young ones (Rochelle got to play earlier than

anticipated) await their destiny. Two young

couples…and their friend and guardian, Hex.

(Totally named after the guardian of the Wrongway

Legacy by superfrog.)

His chapter comes next.
