Rs. in Lacs
* An amount of Rs. 423.50 Lacs has been kept in cost table for procurement of RTDAS system in Odisha. As the completion of the work is not possible by end of May-2014, it has been decided to complete procurement & installation of RTDAS from state budget.
Physical Progress• Real Time Data Acquisition
System (RTDAS)– The Real Time Data
Acquisition System (RTDAS) was planned under HP-II with• 64 Automated Rain Gauge, • 20 Automated Water Level and • 23 Automated Weather
Stations
covering all the river basin in Odisha. The civil works is about to complete and physical transport of equipment is on progress.
Physical Progress• Decision Support System
(DSS-Planning)– Decision Support System
(Planning) has two studies-• Drought monitoring &
management in upper Tel basin • Conjunctive use of SW & GW in
Hirakud command
• Generalized interface developed for– Seasonal planning for Reservoir– Conjunctive use planning for various scenarios of cropping patterns and
cropped area.– Development of dashboard for assessment of drought in Upper Tel basin
considering SPI and SDI methods
Physical Progress• Purpose-driven Study
(PDS)– The PDS study under HP-
II was completed during 2012. The study was-• Water Quality Monitoring
Modelling in Taldanda Canal
Plates showing water pollution in Taldanda canal
Major Physical Achievements• Concept of Real Time Data Acquisition System (RTDAS)• DSS (Planning)-Development of Drought Dashboard• PDS-Development of RIWAQ software (River Water
Quality Model)
Post Project Plan• Establishment of RTDAS• Real time Data Information System through web
server• Different applications of DSS (Planning)• Strengthening of HIS Network
Lessons Learnt• To ensure the continuance of trained staff of the
organization• Training courses imparted by NIH & NWA should
continue.• Up-gradation of HP-I sites for error free data
Dissemination of HIS Data • Under HP-2, data have been disseminated to– 26 private agencies– 19 Govt. agencies and– 7 research fellows
• Rs. 2,37, 807 has been collected towards the data dissemination to the private agencies..
Application of HIS• DPR Studies of different river basins• Hydro-Electric Projects • Design of flood drainage system • Carrying Capacity studies • Hydrological Analysis,• DRIP • Marine Cargo Terminal for Paradeep Fertilizer plant • Designing of launching apron • Study for Lower Suktel Project • Flood estimation of un-gauged catchments • Spiral study • Water Availability studies and Research purposes
