    Get ready for a summer of

    FUN, DISCOVERYAND ADVENTURE!

    YMCA summer camps provide children with positive and fun experiences thatbuild condence, new friendships and a feeling of community that will last

    beyond the summer. Camp Octorara is accredited by the American CampingAssociation (ACA) and Y staff go through rigorous training to ensure thesafety and positive experience of each child.

    All camps focus on the Ys core values:

    CARING HONESTY RESPECT RESPONSIBILITYCAMP DEPOSITSCamp deposits are due at the time of registration.

    Traditional & Non-Speciality Camps:$20 per week for members$40 per week for non-membersNo deposit is required for CCIS recipients.

    Specialty Camps:Select camps with limited enrollment require higherdeposit amounts to reserve placement. Contactcamp registration staff or register online to viewspecialty camp deposits.

    CAMP PAYMENTSFamilies with two or more children signing up forthe same camp week receive 10% off the lowestweekly fee. (Restrictions apply)

    Week 6:July 13 to 17Around the world in 5 crazy days. Fun and ridiculous

    competitive events including color wars await CampOctos 5th annual summer Olympics. Activity:Brandy Olympics

    QUEST FOR THE UNDERWATER CITY

    Week 7: July 20 to 24Search for the lost city of Atlantis this week tosave this mythological city from the creaturesof the deep. Does a Shark sleep? Is an octopus a

    sh? These are just a few questions we answer

    on our quest to save the Underwater City fromdestruction! Activity:Water Slide

    GAMING WORLD UNLEASHED

    Week 8:July 27 to July 31Your favorite virtual characters have been broughtto life and are at Camp Octo to enjoy the summerand have a great time. However, not all thecharacters that have come to life are good. Helpfriends Mario, Luigi, Mega Man, Pokmon, andmore as they try to save camp from evildoers.Activity:Obstacle Course

    PIRATES OF BRANDYWINE

    Week 9:August 3 to 7Captain Blackbeard buried his treasure at CampOcto many years ago but has lost the map toreclaim it. Join the journey with his crew throughcaves, swamps, and sea battles in a race against

    other pirates and the Navy to nd the treasure.Trip: Wolfs Hollow

    STORY BOOK ADVENTURE

    Week 10:August 10 to 14The Evil Queen and her henchman have takencontrol of Camp Octos enchanted playgroundand banished music. Come join this musicaladventure as the campers help win over the EvilQueen and take back the playground. Activity:Camp Octo Variety Show

    BLAST FROM THE PAST

    Week 11:August 17 to 21Help us nd our way back to Camp when we get

    lost in the past. Explore different traditions fromthe past as we travel through the 60s, 70s,80s and 90s. There will be plenty to do as weexperience tye die, crazy hair contests, DJ parties

    and more. Activity: Era Wear ContestFIESTA WEEK

    Week 12:August 24 to 28A week full of fun and celebration as we ash back

    LEADERS-IN-TRAINING (LIT)

    Entering grades 7 and 8Weeks 1 through 10:June 8 to August 14Leaders-in-Training (LIT) is a weekly camp foryounger teens who are ready for more than the

    traditional camp setting. LITs work closely withpeers to develop communication, team work, goalsetting, trust, decision making, organization and

    problem solving skills, as well as teen-orientedactivities that are not available to other campers.Fun, traditional camp activities are part of eachweekly schedule.LIT Program (weekly session)Member: $195

    COUNSELORS-IN-TRAINING (CIT)

    Entering grades 8 and 9

    COURSE WORK (CIT)Weeks 1 and 2:June 8-19or Weeks 3 and 4:June 22-July 3This two-week program is for teens that arepassionate about building upon their generalleadership skills. The program prepares teensfor CIT Field Work. This skill based experience

    teaches teens how to be positive role modelsand leaders in our community through this campexperience. CITs are mentored by Y staff with aspecial emphasis on leadership, communication,teamwork, listening, public speaking and conict

    resolution skill building. CITs also receive CPRand First Aid Training. Upon completion of thisprogram Teens may apply for CIT eldwork which

    will make them eligible for paid employmentthrough our Junior Counselors (JC) Program.Member: $450

    FIELD WORK (CIT)Weeks 1 through 10:June 8 to August 14COURSE WORK IS A PREREQUISITE

    (CITs who completed Coursework last year arealso eligible for Field Work)Interacting with campers as a role model requiresmaturity. The Field Work program provides CITs

    the opportunity to use the skills they learned inCourse Work in the Camp environment. Teens

    will experience the rewards of working with theYMCAs incredible staff team as they practiceskills that will prepare them for paid employment.Participants are carefully selected based on anapplication process that includes a face to faceinterview and 3 references, so apply early toensure your participation.Member: $126

    YMCA Summer Camps are a great place to become a teen leader!Teens have great potential for leadingothers in ways that can have an incredible impact.! Our threeleadership development programs harness that potential through experiential learning and doing.These programs are geared for teens who are highly motivated,ready to work AND play hard, and whodemonstrate the additional responsibilities in accepting the challenges of leadership!
