Advanced lighting technology – digital, connected and intelligent – presents a plethora of additional benefits beyond energy savings. The presentation will cover benefits beyond illumination in different domains from

healthcare to homes and cities. Different examples will illustrate these trends and some of the new business models associated with them.

Meet the Speaker

Nadya Piskun, PhD is the Director of Engineering, Head of Global Controller Hardware and Architecture Luminaries R&D, Philips Lighting. She leads multisite organization and works closely with Philips business groups around the world. Previously, she led the diode laser characterization group at Polaroid Semiconductor division and was a member of the system integration group at AGFA for solid-state laser lithography in printing application. Nadya received her PhD in physics from Ohio State University conducting research on OLED technology development. She held fellow and instructor positions at Harvard Medical School, holding a patent on a Pediatric Vision Screener based on LED technology. In 2013 she published “Color consistency reliability of LED systems” chapter in the Solid State Lighting Technology and Application series.

Adam Gouda, Clarus Lighting ControlsAdam Gouda is the Controls Manager at Clarus Lighting Controls. In this role, he services Southeast Michigan and Northwest Ohio. He is a Certified Project Manager – PMP and Certified Energy Manager – CEM.

Philip GusterPhilip Guster is Program Manager for DTE’s Energy Efficiency Program for Business. Guster is responsible for developing and managing marketing programs and campaigns for business customers to receive incentives to reduce their energy consumption. In his previous role, Guster worked directly onsite at customer facilities implementing energy efficiency projects. He is a Certified Energy Manager and is pursuing his MBA at Walsh College.

Bob Hahn, LumeconBob Hahn is the General Manger of Lumecon, a Michigan based manufacturer LED indoor and outdoor lighting. Hahn is a graduate of Arizona State University with a degree in General Business Administration and is a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society, National Electrical Manufactures Representatives Association and National Association of Electrical Distributors.
