We have a group of squatters living near our playground and they have tried breaking into the Pastor’s house and have taken several items from the Sparrow’s Nest. The Murphy Police are aware of the situation and have been trying to make arrests. Please be vigilant and if you see any suspicious behavior, call the Murphy Police Department

Shepherds, wisemen, angels, banner holders, and light crew are all needed. Please sign up! Drama rehearsals begin on Wednsday November 9th. The tree will be moved over to the sanctuary on Sunday night November 6th after the evening service. Everyone is needed to help. Men are also needed to sign up for times to work on constructing the tree that week. There will be times in the morning and evening to work on it. If you have any questions, please contact Carol Moss.

Sunday 10/30 is Pastor Appreciation Sunday. We need to show Pastor Jimmy and Karen just how much they mean to us. Let’s shower them with cards, gift cards, and monetary contributions to show how much we love and appreciate all they do for us at Murphy First Baptist Church!

Chemo Comfort KitsThe WMU invites you to help with the Chemo Comfort Kits for chemo patients. Please refer to the flyer for the suggested items to bring. We will assemble these at out next meeting on October 27th. We will be taking these kits to Murphy Medical and Blue Ridge Cancer center. Everyone is invited to come help assemble them. We will meet at 5:30 pm in the fellowship hall.

WMU MeetingOur meeting will be Oct. 27th at 5:30 PM in the fellowship hall. Everyone is invited to come and help assemble our Chemo Comfort Kits. We will also be finalizing plans for the Christmas Bazaar. Ladies please plan to attend.

Operation Christmas Child ShoeboxesIt is that time of year again. Please pack your boxes and bring them to the church on or before Nov. 13. The church will be packing 800 boxes on November 12th starting at 1 PM in the fellowship hall. We are hoping for 1000 total boxes with the boxes from the congregation. Our dedication will be Nov. 13th during the morning worship service. On Nov. 13th we will move the boxes to Truett Baptist Associational Office. We will also be taking a special offering on Nov. 12th to help with the shipping cost.

OCC Processing CenterWe will be going to the Atlanta Processing Center on Nov 30th. We will leave the church at 10:00 AM and return about 10:00 pm. You will need money for lunch and dinner. Please sign up on the sheet outside the office.

Christmas BazaarThe Christmas Bazaar will be Nov. 19th from 9:00 AM- 2:00 PM. The money raised at this event will go to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. We have some ladies who have been sewing things for the bazaar. If you have handmade items you could donate, we would love to have them. Please contact Mary Ashley (361-1333) or Duronda Hood (557-6976) if you have questions.

Lottie Moon MonologueOn November 27th, Patricia Frasier Swann will be presenting a Lottie Moon monologue at our church at 6:30 PM. This is a wonderful presentation about the life of Lottie Moon. Please make plans to attend and invite your friends and neighbors to come. A love offering will be taken to cover her expenses.
