TRANSCRIPT
October 2019
Once there was a book called The Late Great Planet Earth. Hal Lindsey laid out his vision of the
end times, sort of a concise version of the Left Behind series. Tensions with Russia, internal
strife over Vietnam, race, women's rights, and economic turmoil fueled speculation that the Rap-
ture might be any day. That was almost 50 years ago. Every generation has faced a troubled
world, we just keep inventing new troubles to go with the same old ones.
Jesus said we'd have troubles in this world. Nice to have full disclosure on that! He followed with
encouragement to not be afraid because he had overcome the world. Yeah, dying and rising is
about as overcoming as it gets!
Whatever keeps you awake at night, whether it's the evening news about the world at large, or
heavy things in your part of the world, try this. As you lay down your head, lay down your bur-
dens at Jesus's feet. Let them go for the night. You need your rest and it's His job, let Him do it.

Taco Boat Sunday
Come for worship, and stay for lunch on October 6th! Build
your own taco boat! A free-will offering will be taken to sup-
port local charities.
But wait - there's more!
For dessert we will serve a special cake honoring "Doc" Lew
Severance in recognition of the many contributions he and Ra-
chel have made to the church over the years. The new choir
robes, dedicated in Rachel's memory during the worship ser-
vice on this day, are his most recent contribution.
Please plan to attend this special time of fellowship, and wish
Lew well on his recent move to Park Rapids, MN, to be closer
to his family.

Saturday, October 5th is the last day to turn

gan, Community Relations Officer of the

migrations and Customs Enforcement
(ICE).

ments, Speaker, Worship Service,
