Maintenance – AGC 2nd VP, John Mead – Work Party is scheduled for Sat., September 16th from 8 – 1 or 2:00. Please send out an email to
members. No new information on the North property. Advised them of the other RV storage that is going in. They have a 10-acre parcel that
they can store 500 RV’s. Will monitor when there is a hearing setup for the property. Added some rock in the area by the bridge to be able to
get the mower on the other side. Will be getting prices on archery targets. No new information on paving the entrance. Have met with 3
different companies for bids, but have not heard back from them.
Please welcome our new Club House Manager – Adrianne Novak
Update on Bison Oil & Gas – AGC Board President, Emmanuel Boyd - Not much more to report at this time. The contract has been signed,
received initial payment, now just waiting to see if they hit oil. They will be located south of us, but not on the club’s property.
VI. NEW BUSINESS
Incident Report - CRO Terry Humbargar was not present – It was reported that another table was shot up.
Election Process – AGC Board President, Emmanuel Boyd and Election Chairman Dave Carriker. Announced that the club will not be holding
an election due to lack of interest for the 3 seat positions that were opening. Referring to the By-laws the club does not need to hold an election
and can appoint members to fill the seats. The appointments will be for a 3-year term. Will put in newsletter that we do not need to hold an
election, but will have the annual meeting. It’s not financially prudent to spend approximately $1500 - $1800 for an election for 1 candidate.
Annual meeting is Sunday, October 1st from 11:00 – 12:00. The range will be closed during that time.
Activities Schedule – All Discipline Chairman need to complete and submit their 2018 schedule Activity, Time & Range by the end of October.
2018 CSTA Fees – AGC Board Member, Loren Kohler - Made a request to have the CSTA fees of $100.00 to be paid and to purchase another
voice response system. Estimated cost for a wireless system is $1,800.00. The system would be designated to trap 2 for Wednesday trap
shoots and Saturday shoots. Will check with Sonny on the brand that they are looking at. Would be a simpler setup and would not have to run
wires all over the place. Looking to get the system by next Spring. (move to old business for next month)
9.12.17.c Motion to Request of $100 for CSTA fees
Motion seconded and passed.

Sad News
We received some heartbreaking news from Cameron Wedge, son of Robert Wedge. That his father, Robert, passed away at home on Tuesday, September 19th, 2017. While the family was devastated by the unexpected loss of their father, husband, and friend, they were grateful that he passed quickly and painlessly. Information about an “Open House” for Robert to follow. However, if you would like to leave a message and share happy thoughts, memories or pictures of Robert you may do so on his online obituary at: http://www.pfh-co.com/notices/Robert-Wedge

Work Party a Success
We would like to thank all who participated in the Sat. 9/16 work party. Over 30 members attended and provided much needed help to get the club ready for winter. Emphasis was placed on the 100 yard range to eliminate sandspurs, weeds, sagebrush and to make the targets more visible. We finished painting stools and benches, rebuilt the microphone box, and added a live ammo (dud) tube that can be emptied readily. Additional work was completed on the 200 yd range, mostly painting. The silhouette range was given additional attention to get ready for the upcoming weekend competition. Trap house doors were given a new coat of paint. The tree stumps and limbs have been split and stacked and are available for ANY member to take. We believe this to be a successful work party due in part to all those members who gave willingly of their time to help keep your club a premier shooting facility. Finally, I'd like to give a big thank you to Berry Patton for all his hard work, leadership and organization of this work party, he was instrumental in making this a success.

200 Yard Military Match `
Sept. 2, 2017
Great Labor Day shoot. Our next shoot will be on Sat., Oct. 7 @ 0900. We will follow our regular match format. After our rifle match we will have a BBQ lunch. No Pistol Match. Next year, several of our shooters will be reclassified to a higher class. There may be some changes to our basic format. I want to keep the playing field between all of our shooters as fair as possible. I would like to thank the AGC Board for all of their support. I would also like to recognize an old friend of mine and former board member, AJ Davis. AJ has donated more time and completed more special projects than any member I know. Recently, AJ volunteered to design our new shooting benches on the 200 yard range. AJ built these benches with the help of Randy, Russ, and Steve. They are the finest benches on this range! Thanks Partners!

AGC Monthly Trap Shooting
The turnout for the September Trap shoot on 9/17 was very light and a bit disappointing in general. We did not have enough shooters to field a squad who were interested in shooting the Singles event, so a few shooters just shot some practice targets. For the handicap event we did manage to field a less than full squad with shooters from 20-22 yards. Rick Barker won with a score of 45 and Terry Hostetler was right behind Rick with a score of 44. No shooters signed up for doubles. At the present time, we do not have any additional monthly shoots scheduled for the balance of 2017. However, if we do have enough shooters who are interested in having a shoot on October 8, and it makes sense to try and field shooters, please call me at 303-241-5023 and we can get something scheduled. Personally, I think we need to have a minimum of 10 interested shooters to make this worthwhile. I just need to know of your interest as soon as possible so we can get emails out and a notice on the club bulletin board. Let me also know if there is something you would like to see added or changed to spark some life into the monthly shoots. We have very few shooters playing class purses for singles and the 50 handicap progressive pot is about $360 - shooters who pay the $2 progressive pot entry fee and break all 50 targets will win 70% of the pot - about $250. Not a bad potential return for a $2 fee.
Rich Dimisko 303-241-5023
NRA Action Pistol The NRA Action Pistol Shoot was held under sunny skies and warm temperatures on Saturday, September 9th. Although the match is scheduled to commence at 9 AM there is some minor set up necessary and most of the contestants showed up early to help and get a little practice in before the match. We had some 7 new shooters in addition to the 5 "usual suspects." If you follow our scores you may notice that some of them were a little higher than usual. This could be based on the fact that five shooters from the Aurora Gun Club attended the "Steamboat Challenge" match in Cheyenne, Wyoming at the end of August. The practice paid off as the Aurora Club shooters brought back 4 trophies and garnered some respect from our Wyoming neighbors. Today's scores were:

Board member David Faingold stopped by to say "hi" and offer some support and words of encouragement. For those of you who remember our dear friend, Ikey Starks, his two sons, Scott and Steve, came out to join in the fun. Displaying the same character and demeanor as Ikey the Starks' brought a lot of fun and memories to the match. This was shooter Carey McDonald's (from Colorado Springs) first ever pistol competi-tion! His excitement was contagious as we all started having even more fun than usual. Scott Seab, who usually shoots at the Arvada club, came out to test his metal against match. As you can see, for his first time he did pretty well and we think that he is going to come back next month to keep us in line. If you look at the scores you will see that they cover a wide range from lows to highs. Our new shooters proved today that you have to start some-where. The stages of the match are pretty simple and everyone from the newest shooter to the most seasoned competitor will be there to help you out. If you are safe, have a fast holster and about 150 rounds of ammunition we would like to see you at our next match on Satur-day, October 14th. Cost is $15.00 for members and $20.00 for non-members.

Military Bolt Action Bench Rest After more than 12 years of running this match, this is my last report. I am moving out of the area, someone else will have to take over for 2018. We had five shooters for this match, and the competition was very tight. In relay one, first group shoot, Harold Lee shot a 1.647”, followed by a 2.151” by Gene Snyder, and Martin Tuck was third with a 2.369”. In the second group shoot, Gene shot a very nice 1.021” followed by Martin with a 2.189 and in third, Harold with a 2.370. In score shooting the spread on the first target was only TWO POINTS for all shooters. Third was Martin with a 48-1x, second was Harold with a 49-1x and Gene was first with a 49-2x. Did I mention close competition? In the end, Gene was first with a 149-6x, Harold was second with a 146-3x and third was Martin with a 143-2x. Harold shot his first “50” in the third relay.

Looking for help from members on a place to hunt - My son-in-law (active duty TSGT USAF at Buckley) and I have Whitetail Doe licenses for 12/1 - 12/14 in GMU's 105 and 106. We did not draw a permit in the State Wildlife Area and need to gain access to private land. These units are bor-dered approximately: West by Kiowa-Bennett Road / North by US 36 / and East by I-70 to Limon and CR 71 / South by US24 and the Elbert-El Paso County line. The GMU's are large, but all private. We are planning to personally contact landowners in the units to gain access, but I hope some members can offer some help as well. We are OK with paying a reasonable access fee and can discuss. My son-in-law missed the 2015 season due to his deployment to the Mid-East and our 2016 deer/elk trip was busted by health issues. I'd like to get him on his first game, and also be able to stock my freezer. Any help the membership can offer or contact info would be greatly appreciated by us. Please call me at 303-241-5023 or email at [email protected]. Thanks in advance for any guidance - Rich Dimisko.
