WASHINGTON, D.C. — Tuesday U.S.Senators Jay Rockefeller and Joe Manchinannounced $1,013,781 in federal fundingfor Shepherd University’s Department ofNursing Education.
“Nurses are the backbone of hospitalsthroughout West Virginia and the coun-try,” Rockefeller said in a statement. “Thisfunding will make it possible to trainmore West Virginians, particularly thosefrom rural areas, to get the education theyneed to pursue this important career andhelp hospitals and patients throughout thestate.
