Today marks the official canonization of Oscar Romero, Archbishop of San Sal-vador, who was martyred as he was celebrating Mass. We will celebrate on Sunday, October 14 at 1:30 PM with a processional, Mass and reception in the Fellowship Hall. Romero, El Salvador’s first saint
Romero was archbishop dur-ing a time of “great political crisis” in El Salvador and “outraged at seeing the vio-lence against the weak and the killing of priests and cate-chists, felt the need to as-sume an attitude of forti-tude.” He was outspoken against his country’s bloody civil war in the 1980s. He was gunned down during Mass in a hospital chapel March 24, 1980. His death is consid-ered by the Catholic Church to have been in “odium fidei,” meaning “in ha-tred of the faith.” Pope Paul VI

Christ Renews His Parish We are currently putting together a team to reignite the women's CRHP program. The first meeting will be held Friday, October 19th at 6:00 PM in room 255. Any women's CRHP "graduate" who is interested in putting on another retreat is invited to attend. We would especially love to see the ladies from the last group who never got to put on their week-end.
