Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable— if anything is excellent or praise worthy—think about such things

For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.

“Eat and drink!” he says to you, But his heart is not with you.

Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts.

Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed.(NIV)

OVERCOMING WRONG THINKING

IS ALL ABOUT THINKING RIGHT

A.) THINKING RIGHT IS THINKING GUIDED BY AND CONSISTENT WITH THE WORD OF GOD

Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbol on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.

The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.(NIV)

This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.(NIV)

B.) THINKING RIGHT IS ABOUT TAKING OUR THOUGHTS TO MAKE THEM OBEDIENT TO CHRIST…

( ANY THOUGHT THAT DISOBEYS CHRIST IS A WRONG THOUGHT )

We demolish arguments and very pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

THINKING RIGHT IS THINKING UNDER THE CONTROL OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace

Daniel 2:1 In the second year of his reign, Nebuchadnezzar had dreams; his mind was troubled and he could not sleep.

Isaiah 26:3 You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in You.

Lamentation 3:21 Yet this I call to mind and therefore I

have hope.

Luke 24:38 “ Why are you troubled and why do doubts rise in your minds?."

Psalms 9:10. Those who know Your Name will trust in You, for You, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you

MARK 9:23. “Everything is possible for him who believes.”

ROMANS 8:5-6 Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace;(NIV)

Romans12:19-21 Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord. On the contrary: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head." 1 CORINTHIANS 6:11-12 And that is what some of you were. But

you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. "Everything is permissible for me"--but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible for me"--but I will not be mastered by anything.(NIV)

2 CORINTHIANS 11:3 But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.

1.) SET YOUR MIND TO GAIN UNDERSTANDING AND THE HOLY SPIRIT WILL DEVELOP IT IN YOU

DANIEL 5:12 He did this because Daniel, whom the king called Belteshazzar, was found to have a keen mind and knowledge and understanding, and also the ability to interpret dreams, explain riddles and solve difficult problems. Call for Daniel, and he will tell you what the writing means.”

DANIEL 10:12Then he continued, “Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them.

2.) BE CAREFUL WITH THE MEDIA, ENTERTAINMENT YOU ENGAGE WITH AND THINGS OR PEOPLE YOU LOOK AT GIVE UP MEDIA THAT DONT STIMULATE RIGHT THINKING AND PLEASING TO GOD.

3.) DONT GIVE UP WHEN YOU FALL INTO WRONG THINKING. DONT BE CONDEMNED. RESTATE YOUR COMMITMENT TO FOLLOW GOD WHOLEHEARTEDLY ALOUD IN PRAYER WITH ALL YOUR HEART.
