Dear Nicasio Families,
Fall is in the air! Yesterday we had our monthly school-wide assembly and honored students who exemplified the September life skill, inclusion. Congratulations to Fabain C., Eva T. and Dylan G.! Student council representatives announced our September Teacher of the Month, Ms. Janis. Janis has been a wonderful addition to our school and has already left her mark on our art program. We also introduced the life skill for October, wellness, and talked about how to keep our bodies, hearts and minds happy and healthy.
Our first school spirit day will be tomorrow (Friday) and will be Color Day. Each class has been assigned a color to wear… TK/1/2 will wear blue, 3/4/5 will wear red, and 6/7/8 will wear black. Please encourage your child to show his or her spirit by dressing in as much of the color as possible. Creativity is always welcome!
Our school board will be holding their regular monthly meeting next Thursday (October 4th) at 4 pm in the library, followed by a budget workshop at 5 pm. All families and community members are welcome and encouraged to attend.
As I mentioned last week, we have some exciting school events coming up in October and we need your help to make them a success! On October 12th the Nicasio School Foundation will be hosting an outdoor movie night in the Nicasio square. Please see the flyer in Cougar Tracks for more information. This will be a fun event for the whole family! Also, our Walk-A-Thon fundraiser will be on Thursday, October 18th. Volunteer slots have been added to our online volunteer sign-up page. Please visit our school website (www.nicasioschool.org) to find the link and sign up where you are able. Or if you prefer, please visit Mikki in the main office and she will gladly sign you up. We cannot pull off these fun events and activities without YOU!
Warmly,
Barbara
