Oceanic yachts 120' & 140' Explorer by www.oceanicyachts-shipyard.comTRANSCRIPT
A new breed of explorer yachts…
The Oceanic 120’ Explorer is not just another “expedition” typed
yacht. Her concept is way more than this. She offers the luxury and
comfort of a mega-yacht, including a full private owner’s deck with
two private terraces, astonishing outdoor decks and central and aft
garage to carry as many toys as you wish to carry.
The aft garage, once the tender is in the water, turns into a beach
club. Her performances are the direct results of the Oceanic’s DNA.
High-Tech composites construction including Kevlar/Aramat su-
perstructure, twin stepped “displanning hull”, twin or tripe engine
configuration with straight shafts transmissions are among the fac-
tors that allow the 120’ Explorer to offer cruising speed from 17 to
24 knots and top speeds from 21 to 28 knots.
In short, the Oceanic 120’ Explorer offers outdoor space you cannot
find in any yacht of equivalent size and performances that are gene-
rally only available with sport-yachts.

Total comfort onboard
Despite a typical Explorer design with a superstructure pu-
shed way forward, the 120’ Oceanic offers maximum comfort.
Her architecture allows for an aft deck that is truly an enter-
tainment platform where you will enjoy three different zones
including, dining area, sun pad and lounge. Considering the
available surface, other layouts can be specifically designed
to suit your needs.
The upper deck is entirely devoted to the owner’s Suite with
king-size bed, sofa, saloon and desk. The owner’s bathroom
occupies the fore portion of this deck and his the first inte-
rior/exterior bathroom with a second private terrace equip-
ped with a Jacuzzi. The later is surrounded by sun pads to
turn this space into another enjoyment area underway or at
anchor. This is a truly unique conceptual arrangement that
is just a small part of the countless innovations available
onboard this extraordinary yacht.

About the 140’philosophy
The Oceanic 140’ Explorer is the flagship of the Oceanic line. She truly
emphasis the Oceanic concept with all the advantages of an expedition,
the comfort of a luxury yacht and the speed of a fast planning hull.
Despite her 27 knots top end speed, she can also cruise at displacement
speeds from 7.5 knots under diesel-electric propulsion and a consumption
under 40 liters per hour and all the way up to 14 knots in “displanning”
mode. The displanning term was invented by Oceanic to express her
unique hull concept capacities. The twin-stepped hull not only increases
performances when planning, she also allows reducing the buoyancy in
the aft section of the hull at displacement speeds. This allows increasing
the draft at low speeds to reduce bouncing in head or following seas. This
variable change of floatability is also supported by the bulb that increases
the running surface at high speed while providing additional floatability
to the bow at economical speeds. Once in planning mode she will cruise
at 23 knots and will top 27.
Consumption under 40 liters per hours
It ’ s all about the size...
With her triple pods with counter rotating propulsion systems,
the Oceanic 140’ engine room has been moved far in the aft
section of the boat. This concept allowed the architects to ins-
tall the main tender garage in the center of the hull. This allows
for a 6-meter plus tender to be stored inside. Once launched,
this space can also be used as a Beach Club. And apart from
the practicability of this layout, its influence on the comfort is
a true advantage.
The tender bay being located between the engine room and
the lower deck cabins is acting as a sound buffer, offering the
lowest possible sound level in the industry.
Even underway, you will enjoy astonishingly quiet times in the
main saloon; thanks to the engine room installed under the
outdoor deck unlike all yachts that size.
Lowest possible sound level
Outdoor living
Finally, a yacht in a reasonable size package that
accommodates family, friends and guests who
can all enjoy their own privacy. The fly bridge with
exterior and interior access offers not only wing
stations for easier port maneuvers, it is also equip-
ped with day head, bar, sofas and sun cushions
with adequate protection from the wing shaped
hard top.
The transom garage offers enough volume to
store jet skis, Seabobs and an additional tender
that can be used exclusively by the crew. Loading
of supplies can be done via the tender bay not
to interfere with your privacy when enjoying the
aft deck saloon. An Oceanic 140’ has simply been
thought with your comfort and enjoyment in mind!
Not to interfere with your privacy
Floor to ceiling windows
All our custom-made interiors are first evaluated with a scale
1 mock-up that allows us and the interior designer to double
check that everything works properly. The client can also ins-
pect a “prototype” cabin to confirm the layout is what he
expected from the layout plans.
The main deck saloon and dining room will be extensively
used, as it is a true extension of the outdoor spaces. The la-
teral floor to ceiling windows offer a spectacular sea view and
flood this entire space with natural light. Onboard the Ocea-
nic 140’, you will continue watching the water from anywhere
you seat in the saloon or the dining area. Further forward on
this deck are the day head, galley, captain’s cabin and the
wheelhouse with two lateral doors. The port side stairwell
leads down to the crew quarters while access to the guest
cabins on the lower deck or up to the owner’s deck is gained
through a spectacular stairwell.

The owner’s private deck
Access to the fully private owners deck is via the super-yacht
styled stairwell that is also equipped with skylights. The
master suite is divided in four different zones. Aft is the
private terrace where you will enjoy breakfast protected by
the overhang of the flying bridge, sip your favorite cocktail
on the sofas and take a nap on the sun-pad. The aft section
of the interior is devoted to the night zone with a king size
bed, salon and office. Here too, the window surface is the
most amazing feature a yacht can offer. Further forward is
the full beam bathroom with toilets, tub, double marble
sinks and an oversize all glassed shower with view to the
outside.
From here, you will gain access to your second terrace to
the front that is in reality an outdoor spa. Where else will
you be able to enjoy such comfort and privacy?

The owner’s bathroom
Suddenly, a bathroom becomes a living space,
not only for Madame! Right above the edge of
the tub, a panoramic window will allow you to
relax while enjoying the sea view. The shower
cabin, entirely surrounded by glass, offers the
same view to the front, but the windshield that
separates it from the outside offers a privacy
system.
No wonder why, like at home, you will feel your
wife spends too much time in the bathroom…
but she now has the best excuse!
Here, as with the entire layout of the Oceanic
140’, this is a design that can be adapted to
your wishes, not only in terms of marble, wood
or lacquers choices, but also in terms of space
planning.

V I P suites to love...
You always have the same concern. You don’t want
your VIP guests or close friends to feel tight in the
usual cabins available in such size yacht. Onboard
the 140’ Oceanic, you will never feel ashamed to
invite your business partners or close friends to
cruise with you. The two VIP suites offer first class
bathrooms with marble showers and a cabin with
king size bed, oversized closets and corner sofa
with coffee table.
Another important feature is the large porthole
that allows watching the sea during navigation. For
the first time, lower deck cabins sound levels are so
low that your guests will be able to keep sleeping
while the boat heads to destination at a good 20
knots cruising speed.

Twin convertible cabins
The two twin guest cabins located forward of the lower deck
are also very size generous. Not only the space between the
two beds is unusually wide, the two beds can also slide to
convert into a queen size.
The level of luxury, both in the cabin and in the bathroom, is
equivalent to the one you can find in the VIP suites. The dé-
cor is also fully customizable, thus, these illustrations are only
indicative. One of these cabins can be turned into a gym if
needed or into a home cinema with high tech sound systems
by Linn. Like in every other cabin, the double portholes allow
to keep an eye on the water while the boat is underway. Like
in every other cabin, your guests or kids will also be able to
follow the navigation on the dedicated channel linked to the
wheelhouse chart plotter. Located to the front, right before
the crew quarters, the only noise you will be able to hear is
the one of the waves being slashed by the hull.

The construction process
Our hull lamination process is very specific in order to accommodate the
two steps. The hull bottom is made of monolithic composites while the
stringers and bones are Divinycell cored. The hull sides are a mix of mo-
nolithic and Airex sandwich, depending on the stress of the zone. All the
structural bulkheads are made of vacuum bagged glass with an Airex core
in order to obtain the maximum strength and rigidity while sparing weight.
The first layers of composites are laminated with isophtalic resin to avoid
any potential risk of Osmosis. The entire superstructure is made of Kevlar
to spare as much weight as possible, lower the barycenter and get the
best stability results.
With its triple 16 V2000 M94L MTU engines of 2,600 hp, twin Auxilia elec-
tric engine of 180 bhp and triple Rentjes pods with counter rating pro-
pellers, the entire structure of the Oceanic 140’ Explorer is an example
of rigidity. The Auxilia electric engines that are part of the package are
another standard feature that pushes the high technology package of the
Oceanic 140’ DiElec to the top.
