Lohengrin's Narration (My trusty swan) ... Wagner Double-Sided
From "Lohengrin" In English. With Orchestral Accompaniments
ERE has recently been such a wonderful season of opera throughout this country that TRH Recordd No. K-010103 containing Frank Titterton's splendid interpretations of the two
principal Lohengrin arias, sung in English, is bound to meet with universal acclamation. Mr. Titterton is in splendid voice and both sides of the record have magnificent orchestral accompaniments.

Piano Accompaniments with Violin Obbligato
ETHEL HOOK, who, as most people know, is a sister of the renowned Dame Clara has a magnificent contralto voice which lends itself in a most unusual manner for
recording purposes. She invariably sings us songs in a manner which reaches the heart, and the two present examples are no exception to the rule. The addition of a violin in the accompaniments is extremely effective, especially in the charming song based on Dvorak's evergreen 'Humoreske.'

x-9455 Smile Again, Kathleen Mavourneen ... Jerome-Vurphy Bla eh La31bel { Somewhere in the World ... ... Nat D. /dyer } Double-Sided
With Orchestral AccompanimentN AT AYER is a writer with an inimitable way of his own, whose songs are as greatly
appreciated in this country as in the States, and' Somewhere in the World,"a melodious example of his work, is just the right type for Colin O'More s sweet voice. This real Irish
tenor puts such fervour into the charming little Hibernian ditty on the reverse side of the record that Kathleen Mavourneen would certainly dry her tears could she but hear him!

T HE three greatest of Mozart's Symphonies were written in 1788, the G-minor bearing the date July 25th. The great masters circumstances at this time were anything but pleasant -almost starving and cheated by those for whom he worked, he found life well-nigh
intolerable. Yet in a way these great adversities but tended to strengthen his genius, for the joy of composition became his only thought in life.
The two records mentioned above and played in flawless manner by The Aeolian Orchestra,
conducted by Mr. Greenbaum, contain the first and second movements of Mozart's immortal Symphony in G-minor, and it is hoped to present the remaining movements to our patrons next month.

A NDRE MESSAGER, who is probably best known to the British public as the composer of "Veronique" and "Les Petites Michas," wrote many sparkling comic operas and ballets-
of the latter "Les Deux Pi Aeons" is a most charming example. In Record K-05107 the Band of H.M. Life Guards give us spirited interpretations of some of the movements from
this delightful ballet, and it is hoped to present another record containing further examples from
the Suite in our next issue.

of real merit both as regards melody, effect and popularity. When you purchase dance records bearing the "Vocalion" label, it is a certain guarantee you are obtaining everything that is best
and brightest for your friends whether the entertainment be formal or impromptu.

E ACH new Vocalion' record by Watcyn Watcyns goes to prove the artistry of this popular young Welsh singer. The last disc issued-No. X-9432 - contained two stirring sea ballads by Freder'ck Keel, which met with a great reception from friends and critics alike. This
present record smacks of a different sentiment entirely, but Mr. Watcyns enters most thorough- ly into the spirit of both songs and his voice is always delightfully sonorous and true.

T HIS clever young American Violiniste has a subtle touch which enables one to listen with fresh delight to the two charming little ballads included in Record No. X-9457. Here are no
`fireworks' of technique, but a simple directness of express: on and tone which cannot fail
to appeal to the most jaded of musical palates.

W WE have much pleasure in presenting a decided novelty to our patrons in Record No. K-05104. Eukine Goossens is exceptionally well-known to the British public as one of the most brilliant young conductors and musicians of the day, and these two movements
from his Trio are extremely fascinating. The combination of instruments employed produces a most pleasing effect and the composition is both interesting and effective. The artists who took
part in the recording are almost as well-known as the composer-Charles Woodhouse, leader of the Queen's Hall Orchestra, Marie Goossens, a sister of the composer, and Charles Stainer, one of the leading exponents of the flute in this country.
