USES OF THE PLANTS

Lovage:

- used in food, beverages as flavor component

- used in soaps and cosmetics as fragrance

Parsley

- used as medicine for cracked or chapped skin

- used as a condiment or garnish

Thyme

- red thyme oil is used in perfumes

- in foods, thyme is used as a flavoring agent

Celery

- used in ancient Greece to make wine (award at athletic games)

- celery juice is used as medicine

Rosemary - used as a spice

- leaf and oil are used in foods, oil also used in beverages

- oil is used as fragrant component in soaps and perfumes.

Basil - used for flavor in foods

- used to make medicine

Dill - long history as a culinary spice

- also used as a magic weapon and a medicine

(in the Middle Ages, to defend against witchcraft and enchantments)

Sage - used as common spice in foods

- leaf used to make medicine
