Multi-disc Soft-Spot

Case in Point: Robbi Thompso

I've greatly enjoyed Oasis' long-time association with Robbin Thompson. Robbin's work has involved an astonishing list of greats

including a former bandmate named Bruce Springsteen. He runs a major recording studio (In Your Ear) in Richmond, Virginia. And

he writes music not only for commercials and films but also for great causes like SmileTrain, The Asia Foundation, and awareness

campaigns for autistic children in military families. One of Robbin's songs even went on to become the centerpiece for a campaign to

fight human trafficking in Cambodia.

"Just a Blur In The Rearview" was a special project for Robbin. It includes his track "I Won't Quit" from a film with Cuba Gooding, Jr.,

as well as a favorite cover from Jesse Winchester. More than three years in the making, Robbin wanted a special packaging format

for Rearview. Here's Robbin in his own words.

"I chose a 6-panel with full-color printing on both sides to allow me to get all the credits, art, and photography that really give the project

the visual and documentary treatment it deserved.

"The artwork for a project like this is so important. It's often the first contact your fans have with the music, so it has to speak to them.

I used local artists to create an original painting depicting what they think the title means visually for my cover. It's a showcase for them

as well so it's got to come out right. The larger, 6-panel format allowed room for this as well as everything else I wanted to get in. Best of

all, it was still affordable, which is an important consideration as I have reordered the project several times.
