Weight Room Rules
Children under the age of 18 must have a signed parental consent form on file in the
Clubhouse office to use this equipment. Minimum age to bring a guest is 14. Parental
Consent Forms are available in the Clubhouse office. Parents, please stop by to sign one for
your child. Residents, 18 and older, are welcome to bring 1 guest per visit to the weight room. This past year,
our workout rooms have been used over 5,000 times. Please be courteous of all guest when reserving our
cardio equipment. Please only reserve 24 hours in advance.
We have added a Bosu Balance Trainer, foam roller and small bands to the workout area. Please stop by
and give it a try, your body may thank you for it. What is a foam roller you ask? A foam roller will assist with
sore muscles or if you are feeling stressed out. Not only does foam rolling help relax and rehabilitate muscles,
it helps them grow and repair by bringing oxygen to the muscles. Feeling sore after a workout is a great time
to use a foam roller. It lowers blood pressure and can even improve posture. Come give it a roll!

Stop by the office to sign in and get the password, then relax in the rec room as you surf

OAKS LANDING RECREATIONAL ASSOCIATION BOARD MEETING MINUTES
February 24, 2020
On February 24th, 2020, with mist falling from the heavens, the Oaks Landing Recreational Association gathered for their monthly meeting with 8 great residents in attendance. President Roberts called the meeting to order at 6:30 and introduced Kathy Boever who is now part of the management team. Wel-come to the neighborhood Kathy.
Treasurer Don Eatherton gave the Financial Report saying all is well. 2020 Assessments were mailed out on 01/25/2020 and payments are due on 03/01/2020. Tina and Julie gave the following updates on the clubhouse and pool; The first ever Zumba and wine event was held in January and it was a big success. If you like wine and an exercise fitness program, then this is for you. Keep an eye out because this will be happening again soon. On April 11th, get ready to hippity hop all the way to the clubhouse and have fun at the Annual Easter egg hunt. Get that Easter haircut early because there will be an opportunity to get your picture taken with the Big Bunny himself. The lights around the side parking lot, the tennis courts and the rear of the pool are being upgraded to LED lights so you can see who you are leaving with at the end of the night. The Remington Oaks Homeowners Association has given permission to use 2 or 3 of the picnic tables on the outside of the pool for a smoking area. More to come on this. We are approximately 90 days away from swim season and Unique has begun the search for lifeguards. They have reached out to local high schools in hopes of landing some solid swimmers who are invested in the community. The OLRA is also in the beginning stages of putting together a Life Guard Task Force that will be led by Board Member Rich Gar-ner. Rich will soon be reaching out to the residents that signed up to help and they are committed to getting us the best lifeguards in the area and keeping the pool safe. There were a total of 12 rentals at the clubhouse in January.
The residents in attendance brought up questions about the swimming rules for the upcoming season and there was a question about
what constitutes as a rental at the clubhouse.

“What Do All of These Acronyms Stand For?”
ROHA, NLHA, OLRA: What You Need to Know
1. So, what do the acronyms stand for? ROHA — Remington Oaks Homeowners Association NLHA — Newport Landing Homeowners Association OLRA — Oaks Landing Recreational Association 2. What does each association actually do?
ROHA governs the Remington Oaks and Chestnut Pointe neighborhoods (AKA the “tree-themed” streets), and NLHA governs the Newport Landing neighborhood (mostly “sea-themed” streets on the other side of Hawkins). Homeowners belong to ONE of the two organizations based on their address. OLRA governs the
Clubhouse, swimming pools and tennis courts.
3. Can you give me a refresher on the annual assessments? Each resident receives two assessments each year: one from either ROHA or NLHA, and one from OLRA.
The OLRA assessments are mailed in late January and are due March 1 each year. 4. What, exactly, do the fees cover?
ROHA fees cover common ground maintenance (including Lake Remington), main entrances maintenance, insurance and streetlights for the Remington Oaks and Chestnut Pointe neighborhoods. NLHA fees cover trash pickup, common ground maintenance (including the Newport Landing pond), main entrances maintenance, insurance and streetlights for the Newport Landing neighborhoods. OLRA fees fund Clubhouse maintenance, insurance, swimming pools, tennis courts, fitness rooms, and Clubhouse-sponsored neighborhood activities.
5. I don’t ever use the Clubhouse facilities. Do I still have to pay the OLRA fee? Yes. Per the governing indentures, all households are required to pay both the appropriate
Homeowners Association fee and the Recreational Association assessments. 6. When do I get my 2020 ID stickers and pool guest pass? ID stickers and guest passes will be made available in April to residents who are current on their paid
assessments. Residents must be up-to-date on assessments for both their Homeowners Association and the Recreational Association to receive ID stickers and guest pass.
7. I still have questions. Who do I contact? The back page of the Recreational Association Newsletter
features contact information for each homeowners association. OLRA contact information and monthly meeting minutes are also included in the newsletter. All residents are encouraged to attend both the Recreational Association and their respective Homeowners Association meetings in order to stay informed.
