PRINCIPAL’S REPORT
The Year 2 production of The Colour Factory has been performed this week and the entire production team and children have done a wonderful job. The costumes, lights, back drops, acting, singing and dancing were enjoyed by large audiences. Thank you to all the teachers, parents and community for your contributions towards making this a very enjoyable experience for the children.
Thank you to all the children and families for your amazing support for Tigray this week. At the time of print, the dress up day has raised close to $4000. Final total added with the proceeds from jump Rope for Heart will be revealed next week.
Last week we experienced several days of hot weather, and on two of those days the power went out for several hours, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Thank you to the staff and children who coped very well for the rest of the day. We were able to hire a generator via an OSPS family connection as a ‘back up plan’, should the power go out on a production night. We are looking into the causes of the power outage. The department has at last agreed we need an upgrade.
Another strange weather event last week in the evening was a lightning bolt hitting the large elm tree near the senior playground. The bolt stripped the first layer of bark off the tree as it grounded, a very intriguing sight and talking point for the students.
Tomorrow the students will participate in a whole school transition afternoon. They will visit some of the teachers and rooms of the year level above and participate in activities they might experience next year. The year 6’s have some special activities planned with the specialists. It is sure to be an enjoyable afternoon. Tomorrow is also the last Prep Transition afternoon.
Have a lovely week.

Overdue Library Books
We are fast approaching the end of the year and there are still a
large number of books that are overdue. We will be sending lists
home with children who have outstanding books that need to be
returned.
It would be greatly appreciated if parents could help their children find the
books and bring them back to the library.
Garnier Playground
Please help our school win this playground—if families vote each day until
Friday 8th December can get this for our school!
