Business Need: Our client have 900+ users using Gmail and Google apps and they decided to move to Office 365 and integrate their 60+ applications which are built on PHP and .NET with Office 365 authentication instead of Google Authentication. At present they deployed their business applications in Rackspace. Since they were not satisfied by its performance, they were looking for an effective cloud platform to hosts all their internal business applications. Later after extensive research, considering the nature of their business applications, they have found Azure to be the best fit. So they have decided to migrate from Rackspace to Microsoft Azure Solution: Single Sign On The primary aim of the engagement was to prove that SSO works for Office 365 authentication with all applications irrespective of the technology being used such as PHP, .NET, etc. Katpro designed and developed a .NET based Office 365 integration component that was plugged into the client's business applications seamlessly, which thereby ensured that Single Sign on (SSO) for all the applications. Azure Migration The second significant achievement was that the applications that were hosted on Rackspace were successfully migrated to Azure. Katpro had strategically advised and designed the migration so that the appropriate components of Azure were being used, which significantly improved performance and also ensured cost effectiveness and security. Setting up permissions Azure portal provides the functionality to register applications and set up the appropriate permissions. The Azure portal does not yet support registering applications; we can use Graph Explorer for this purpose. Benefits Single Sign on (Office 365) The employees of our client are now able to access all their enterprise applications using Office 365 credentials for their emails, accessing internal business critical applications. Speeds time to market Since customer are in to cloud business who develops new apps and sells it to customers, moving to cloud speedup their building process and release it in shorter span of time. They found it to be faster deploying to Windows Azure than it was to their own internal test environment in some cases. They can try new things quickly, with very low risk and cost.

Case Study for Office 365 Single Sign On

Industry : IT Services Country : India Solution : Office 365 Single Sign On and Migration to Azure from Rackspace Technologies & Tools : ASP.NET 3.5, Windows identity foundation, Active Directory Azure Components : Azure AD Graph API, Cloud services, Vms

Background: Our client is a global IT consulting and product engineering services provider and offer technology solutions. Founded in 1999, they have headquartered in Santa Clara, CA and have offshore delivery centre in India. Our client’s key focus areas are Product Engineering, Analytics, and Cloud and Enterprise services.

So they have decided to migrate from Rackspace to Microsoft Azure

Solution: Single Sign On The primary aim of the engagement was to prove that SSO works for Office 365 authentication with all applications irrespective of the technology being used such as PHP, .NET, etc.

Speeds time to market

Since customer are in to cloud business who develops new apps and sells it to customers, moving to cloud speedup their building process and release it in shorter span of time. They found it to be faster deploying to Windows Azure than it was to their own internal test environment in some cases. They can try new things quickly, with very low risk and cost.
