On Sunday August 16th at 10:00am, we will meet together to celebrate our
205th Church Anniversary with a worship service at New Life Camp, as we did
last year. We will sing together and hear a message from Rev. Tim Rogers, who
was called into the ministry from Mount Vernon. We will also have lunch
together and have games and recreation for all.
In anticipation of this exciting day of worship, the Financial Stewardship
Committee and church leadership have developed an effort to eliminate the debt
of our church. As we did last year, the offering on Homecoming Sunday, will be
designated to go directly to the church’s mortgage principal so that in 2018 the
church will be debt free!

“10 NIGHTS”
Jesus said for us to go, so let’s go! for 4 more of our “10 nights” this
summer, the MVBC church body will be
purposefully uniting together to impact
our community. From 5-6pm there will
be a time of prayer walking in the
communities around the church, and
from 6-7pm there will be a time of cele-
brating together what God does through
our obedience to go. This will be a time
for the whole family to walk, pray, and
be encouraged by God’s Word together.

The Love Offering given to Alpha Ministries
last Sunday was $2,248.00.
Wednesday we collected a Love Offering for
the Gideons which was $722.00.
The Deacon Council recommends
Daniel Brown for the position of Music
Minister of Mount Vernon Baptist
Church. The Deacons are sponsoring a
Question and Answer time for Daniel
tonight at 6:30pm in the Family Life
Center. Daniel’s resume is available in
the office lobby and in the Welcome
Center.
We will be voting on the Deacons’
recommendation next Sunday, July
26th, at 6:30pm in the Family Life
Center.
