North Shore Chamber WinSalem Receives $557,000 ForCommuter Rail Station

Senator John Kerry and Salem MayorKimberley Driscoll announced that the city ofSalem will receive $557,220 from the U.S.Department of Transportation to improve itscommuter rail station.

The proposed improvements include a garagethat will hold approximately 750 to 900 spaces,improvements to the platform and overall stationaccessibility, and an interior waiting area. TheCity is also working withArrowstreetArchitectsto explore potential opportunities for mixed usedevelopment on the adjacent city-owned parcel.Officials say they are looking forward tomovingahead
