Chris Labrooy Is a Scotland based creative who is interested in typography, architecture, product design and visual art.

4. How would you describe their practice?

He does advertising for some big brands and has made a strong name for himself in design industries with has skillful use of graphic design and typography which is what features in most of his posts on Instagram.

Labrooy has a very strong use of ocolour in his work, using bright colours to attract the eye to the main object of the work. The colours in his typography always have some connection to the topic he is speaking about.

Mostly photoshop and graphic design, there is lots of 3D art work.

9. What context are the artworks seen and how does it affect how we interpret or value their work? E.g. Gallery, advertisements, or in public spaces…

10. Why have you chosen this particular artist / designer?

His style of typography is very bold and graphic which is what I am drawn to, I also like the 3D style in which he works.

11. Is the person you have researched an artist or designer and how have you come to this conclusion?

Chris Labrooy says he is an “Artist and Designer” in his Instagram Bio so I would say that’s what he is, Both.

12. What have you learned about their creative processes / practice and how might you apply their ideas to your own work?

I like how he produces modern artworks of old school cars, I hope to bring a combination of past and present into my work. I also like how he uses objects to make work in his typography.
