INTRODUCTION

The document contains the info that guide users to use NUS Guest Wi-Fi and

management of NUS Guest Wi-Fi PIN Generation Portal.


NUS GUEST WI-FI SMS LOGIN

This section shows how to connect NUS Guest Wi-Fi with SMS Login.

1. To access NUS Guest Wi-Fi, user need to connect to NUS SSID. Figure 1

shows the example of SSID looks.

2. Once user connect to the NUS SSID, an engagement portal will be prompted

as shown in Figure 2.

3. From Figure 2, to access NUS guest Wi-Fi users had to fill in the phone

number, captcha, and submit the form by click on I agree to the term of use

and proceed button.

4. After submitted the form, users will be redirected to OTP page as shown in

Figure 3.

5. Users need to fill in the received OTP and click on confirm button.

6. If users do not get the OTP, he and she can try to click on resend button.

7. After OTP is submitted successfully, users will be redirected to NUS Home

Page as shown in Figure 4.

8. Users will be able to access the NUS Guest Wi-Fi when they log in

successfully.


NUS GUEST WI-FI PIN LOGIN

This section shows how to connect NUS Guest Wi-Fi with PIN Login.

1. To access NUS Guest Wi-Fi, users need to connect to NUS SSID. Figure 5

shows the example of SSID looks.

2. To connect NUS Guest Wi-Fi with PIN Login, users can click on Event Login

3. After click on Event Login button, users will be redirected to Event Login page

4. From Figure 8, to access free Wi-Fi users must fill in the individual PIN or

group PIN that generated from the guide steps as described in next sections

(NUS GUEST Wi-Fi PIN PORTAL - PIN GENERATION FOR INDIVIDUAL and

NUS GUEST Wi-Fi PIN PORTAL - PIN GENERATION FOR GROUP),

key-in captcha and submit the form by click on I agree to the term of use and

proceed button.

5. Once submitted successfully, users will be redirected to NUS Home Page as

shown in Figure 8.

6. Users will be able to access the NUS Guest Wi-Fi when they log in

successfully.


NUS GUEST WI-FI PIN PORTAL – LOGIN

This section shows how to login to NUS Guest Wi-Fi PIN Generations Portal.

1. First users requires to login NUS Guest Wi-Fi PIN Generation Portal.

URL: https://nusguest.nus.edu.sg:8443/nus_event

2. Enter your username and password (NUS staff account) to login.

3. Once users login into the NUS Guest Wi-Fi PIN Generation Portal, users will

be directed to a page which shows I need a PIN for: a guest | a group, View

reports and Help as shown in Figure 10.

NUS GUEST WI-FI PIN PORTAL - PIN GENERATION FOR INDIVIDUAL

This section shows the admin guide to generate PIN for individual.

1. To generate Wi-Fi PIN for individual, users can click on the for a guest image tag

under the PIN generation as shown in Figure 11.

2. Once users clicks on it, users will be directed to a form as shown in Figure 12.

3. Users must fill up guest name, guest organization and the PIN validity duration.

4. Once fill up complete, users can click on the submit button to submit the form.

5. Once submitted the form, users will be directed to a page which list out the

information of the registered PIN as shown in Figure 13.

6. An email notification will be sent to users once they success submit the form as

shown in Figure 14.

NUS GUEST WI-FI PIN PORTAL - PIN GENERATION FOR GROUP

This section shows the admin guide to generate PIN for group.

1. To generate Wi-Fi PIN for group/conference, users can click on a group image

tag under the PIN generation as shown in Figure 15.

2. After click on it, users will be directed to a form as shown in Figure 16.

3. Users must fill up Event Name, Event Venue and the PIN Validity Duration.

4. Once fill up complete, users can click on the Submit button to submit the form.


5. Once submitted the form, users will be directed to a page which list out the

information of the registered PIN as shown in Figure 17.

6. An email notification will be sent to users once they successfully submit the form

NUS GUEST WI-FI PIN PORTAL - REPORT MANAGEMENT

This section shows how to view and retrieve the report.

1. To manage generated Wi-Fi PIN, users can click on the report image tag as

shown in Figure 19.

2. After click on it, users will be directed to a page as shown in Figure 20.

3. Users able to view the specified record detail by click on green View button as

shown in Figure 20.

4. Users able to delete the specified record by click on the red Delete button as

shown in Figure 20.

5. Users able to filter the record by PIN type which included individual or

group/conference and expiry from and to as shown in Figure 21.

6. Once users select the condition, users can click the Submit button.

7. Users can export the record in csv format by click on the Export button as shown

in Figure 22.

8. Users can select to export either current page or all pages as shown in Figure 23.

9. Once users selected the type of PIN list to export, he or she can click the Submit

button.


NUS GUEST WI-FI PIN PORTAL - HELP GUIDE

This section shows the details of self help guide.

1. To have any questions about NUS Guest Wi-Fi PIN Generation Portal, users can

access the self help guide page by click on the Help image tag as shown in

Figure 24.

General

1. Why do I need to generate a Wi-Fi PIN for my guest?

• Our staff has feedback that they want option for a more seamless login experience for their local and

overseas conference participants. Staff can now generate a Wi-Fi PIN easily and pass it on to their

local or overseas guest to connect to NUS Guest wireless in 3 simple steps.

Usage

1. How does guest connect to “NUS_Guest” using the Wi-Fi PIN issued by staff?

a. Connect to “NUS_Guest” wireless network.

b. Click on Event Login.

c. Key in the Wi-Fi PIN and captcha then press submit.

2. How do I generate Wi-Fi PIN for my guest to login to “NUS_Guest”?

• Go to NUS Guest Wi-Fi PIN Generation Portal: https://nusguest.nus.edu.sg:8443/nus_event/

and login using your NUSNET account.

3. Can I customise the duration of internet access for my guest?

• Yes, you can.

4. What is the maximum Internet access duration I can grant to my guest?

o For single guest, the maximum Internet access duration you can grant is up to 1 month.

o For group of guests, the maximum Internet access duration allowed is up to 2 weeks.

5. What is the difference between single guest and group Wi-Fi PIN?

• Single guest Wi-Fi PIN is suitable for single guest that does not have international roaming to receive

OTP via SMS or for guest who might require a longer duration of Internet access for his / her stay in

NUS. The single guest Wi-Fi PIN will enable your guest to connect up to 3 devices.

• Group Wi-Fi PIN is suitable for seminar, event, conference, roadshow that you might need to host for

many local and / or overseas guests. The group Wi-Fi PIN can support unlimited amount of users or

devices.

6. How is this Wi-Fi PIN compared to NUSOPEN “Event Administrator Access”?

• This Wi-Fi PIN feature is meant to replace NUSOPEN “Event Administrator Access”.

7. Do I get notification after successful Wi-Fi PIN creation?

• Yes, you will get email notification on the Wi-Fi PIN details and you may forward to your guest in

advance before he / she reaches NUS. You may also view the Wi-Fi PIN creation history from the

“View Reports” function.

8. Does my guest need to enter the Wi-Fi PIN every day during his / her stay at NUS?

• No, he / she only needs to enter the Wi-Fi PIN once on his / her device(s), then he / she can re-connect

to “NUS_Guest” wireless network seamlessly during his / her stay at NUS.

• NOTE: Please be reminded that for single guest Wi-Fi PIN, it can be used for up to 3 devices only. If the

guest attempts to use the Wi-Fi PIN on 4th device, it will get rejected.

9. Can I delete the Wi-Fi PIN for my guest?

• Yes, you can do so. Click on the report, locate your Wi-Fi PIN and click on Delete.

10. Can our guest access to NUS internal resource using NUS Guest Wi-Fi?

• No, guest is not able to access to NUS internal resource via NUS Guest Wi-Fi. They can access to NUS

public sites and other internet resources.
