7a. Please describe any barriers to achieving the goals of your Learning Plan:

The only barrier this year is finding enough time to schedule learning opportunities. I have not received my annual performance review yet, although hope to have this scheduled by the end of the year. I am in a leadership role, and continue to participate in a formal monthly supervision with my coordinator. 7b. How did you address these barriers?

As noted above and including ongoing informal supervision as needed. I have started to allot time blocks in my schedule for learning opportunities and find the e- learning courses fit well with my current job. My supervisor greatly supports learning opportunities and makes efforts to allow me to attend seminars offered in VI Health. I am in a leadership/teaching role, where staff will often shadow with me. I take the opportunity to learn from my younger staff and medical residents as well. I also encourage our team psychiatrist to offer in-services on various topics to the team at our weekly staff meetings....good learning opportunities.

Task/Knowledge re: Enhanced program development - developing a standardized, comprehensive, client centered community service plan and implementation of same with the team and clients. 9b. Please provide at least one specific example of HOW you applied this new learning into your psychiatric nursing practice over the past year.

Ongoing promotion of client-centered approach to all treatment planning with staff. Encouraged staff involvement in development of the plan to promote ownership and understanding of rationale for such a plan. Standardizing the format for community service plans has resulted in improved quality of service delivery,

transparency, and development of healthy partnerships with clients. Evaluating community service plans q6 monthly or more often as necessary with clients. My focus over the past few years has been program development, teaching and mentoring new staff. 10.
