    The Benefits of Nursing Informatics

    1. Informatics offers many benefits for health care. Theycan be seen in the ability to create and use aggregateddata to prevent errors and to provide better medicalrecords.

    2. Informatics will improve documentation and whenproperly implemented can reduce the time spent indocumentation.

    3. Duplicate data entry such as entering vital signs both in

    nursing notes and a flow sheet waste time an inviteserrors.

    4. In a well-designed clinical documentation system, thesedata will be entered once, retrieved and presented inmany different forms to meet the needs of the user.
