Invited Speakers

Lisa DiBlasi Moorehead Associate Nurse Executive at The Joint Commission

DiBlasi Moorehead was most recently a field director at The Joint Commission where she has been a surveyor since 2010 for its Hospital Accreditation Program. Prior to joining The Joint Commission, she was responsible for accreditation and regulatory compliance and related performance improvement activities for a five-hospital system in Louisville, Kentucky. She also has held leadership positions in nursing, quality and education during her more than 30 years in health care. DiBlasi Moorehead has held certifications in health care quality, critical care nursing and as a clinical nurse specialist. She received her doctorate in leadership education from Spalding University, Louisville, and her master of science in nursing from the University of Louisville.

Lisa Meeks Assistant Professor—University of Michigan

Dr. Lisa M. Meeks is an assistant professor of family medicine at the University of Michigan and Director of Education for MDisability. Meeks' research interests include: Improving access to health science education for learners with disabilities, medical student and resident well-being, disability curriculum in medical education, reducing health care disparities in patients with disabilities, and the performance and trajectory of learners and physicians with disabilities and survey design. Her work has helped to inform policy and best practice in the area of disability services and has been featured on NPR, the Washington Post, CNBC, in Slate, and at cleveland.com. Dr. Meeks is the co-founder and current President of the Coalition for Disability Access in Health Science and Medical Educa-tion, co-developer of both the AAMC Disability Webinar Series and the UCSF Disability Training Series for Faculty and Adminis-trators, co-editor and author of the seminal text on disability in health science The Guide to Assisting Students With Disabili-ties: Equal Access in Health Science and Professional Education and co-PI and lead author of the AAMC Special Report: Accessibility, Inclusion, and Action in Medical Education: Lived Experiences of Learners and Physicians with Disabilities.

Michelle L. Aebersold, PhD, RN, CHSE, FAAN Clinical Associate Professor—University of Michigan

Dr. Aebersold’s professional and academic career is focused on advancing the science of learning applied in simulation to align clinician and student practice behaviors with research evidence to improve learner and health outcomes. She focuses her scholarship in both high fidelity and virtual reality simulation and is a national leader and expert in simulation. Her scholarship has culminated in developing the Simulation Model to Improve Learner and Health Outcomes (SMILHO).

A full refund, less a $25 processing fee, will be issued for all cancellations received or

postmarked at least one week prior to the course date. No refunds are issued thereafter.

Cancellations received the day of the course are not eligible for a refund. UK College of

Nursing Professional Development reserves the right to cancel a course when circumstances

are warranted. In such a case, a full refund will be issued. UK College of Nursing is not

responsible for hotel, plane, car, or other such fees.
