Required Documents: The originals or certified copies of each of the following: 1. Passport including a valid UAE residence visa or other proof of legal stay in the UAE. 2. Statutory evidence of any name change (marriage license, other legal document). 3. School leaving Certificate (Highest level attained before entry to nursing or midwifery Education). 4. Nursing or Midwifery Education Certificate / Diploma / Degree- (length of education and academic achievement must be verified by means of official transcript if not clearly specified on Certificate / Diploma / Degree). 5. Fill the Reference inquiry Form  Nursing experience: All Expatriate applicants must have had at least one thousand (1000) hours experience within the three (3) years prior to applying for registration in the UAE.  Midwifery experience: All Expatriate applicants must have had at least one year experience within the three (3) years prior to applying for registration in the UAE. 4-MANDATORY RENEWAL OF REGISTRATION 1) The Mandatory renewal of registration is required every four (4) years as indicated on the Registration Certificate. 2) Renewal of registration is the responsibility of the nurse and/or midwife; and if not done according to stated registration renewal criteria and requirements, registration will lapse. 3) If registration lapses and the candidate re-apply, registration criteria as in place at that time will apply. 4) The renewal of registration will not be processed for foreign nationals who can not provide evidence of current employment in the UAE. 5) Renewal of Registration for UAE Graduates requires evidence of employment in the UAE or elsewhere. 6) Nurses and midwives who completed their registration by endorsement before August 2006 will follow the current endorsement criteria when they renew their registration. 7) Nurses and Midwives who had a gap of unemployment for 3 years can’t renew the Registration unless they retake and pass the registration examination or provide an evidence of refreshing courses during that period of at least 40 Continuous Education units (CEUs). 8) Nurses and midwives holding MOH registration by endorsement and can’t provide evidence of current employment in the UAE within the last three (3) year could only be registered if they pass the registration examination and fulfill all registration requirements. 9) By end of 2009 attainment of twenty (20) credited CEUs will be required upon renewal of Registration as an evidence of continuous learning. 10) By end of 2009, old Registration Certificates issued without expiry date will not be valid. Renewal of these certificates will be the responsibility of individual nurses and midwives and registration criteria as in place at that time will apply. 11)  Midwives employed by the MOH before January 2003 and who meet current midwifery registration criteria may apply for midwifery registration Exam.  1. General registration Information Registration renewal requirements are met when a nurse/midwife meets the applicable criteria, submit the Nursing Registration renewal Application to the Federal Department of Nursing, MOH with all documents required where applicable, and all required verifications have been received, reviewed to meet the s tandard and criteria of the Federal Department of Nursing.  This applies to governmental and private sector. 2. Registration Criteria:  Registered Nurse (RN):  Applicant should have at least a three (3) year diploma in nursing with a minimal attainment of sixty percent (60%) of total marks and after twelve (12) years secondary of school education.  Practical Nurse (PN)  Applicant should have one of the following: a) A diploma in nursing of eighteen (18) months duration with a minimal attainment of (60%) of total marks after 12 years of secondary school education b) A three (3) year diploma in nursing with a minimal attainment of sixty percent (60%) of total marks after intermediate education.  Registered Midwife (RM)  Applicant should have one of the following: a) Twelve (12) years of secondary school education and eighteen (18) months duration qualification of midwifery after a three year nursing program, with a minimal attainment of sixty percent (60%) of total marks. b) Twelve (12) year of secondary school education and at least a three (3) year diploma in midwifery with a minimal attainment of sixty perc ent (60%) of total marks.   Practical Midwife (PM): Twelve (12) year of secondary school education and diploma in midwifery of two (2) years duration with a minimal attainment of sixty percent (60%) of total marks.
