Our Parish Mission — ‘Nuestra Senora de La Luz’ (Our Lady of the Light) is a community that comes together to model Jesus to all peoples by addressing physical concerns and spiritual matters, and to do as Jesus did, giving everything to bring people into a closer relationship with God, in celebration.
CHRISTMAS EVE AND DAY REFLECTION Other Readings: Vigil Mass Isaiah 62: 1-5, Acts 13:16-17, Matt. 1:1-25 or 1:18-25. Mass during the day: Isaiah 52:7-10, Heb. 1:1-6, John 1:1-18 or 1:1-5, 9-14. REFLECTION: Humility of God calls for our own humility. There is no more profound way to express the humility of God and his nearness to his creatures other than to reflect on the incarnation of his only begotten son. God destined to save fallen human nature through one like unto us; truly God, truly man. This is to undo the damage caused by the first man, Adam. Daniel Groody wrote about reciprocating God’s humility in his reflection called, the DOOR OF HUMILITY; the church of the Nativity in Bethlehem was originally built in 339, and it was erected over the cave where tradition believes that Jesus was born. It is one of the oldest Christian shrines in the world, yet even today is remarkably unassuming in outward appearance. Given its importance, one might expect a majestic entrance, such as at Saint Peter’s Basilica in Rome, whose main doors are twenty-five feet tall. This space, however, is disarmingly simple. Its lone door is only four feet high and two feet wide. To go inside and see the place where Christ was born, one has to first lower oneself and pass through the little door of humility. Therefore, the birth of Jesus teaches us the importance of humility, love, faithfulness, peace, and joy. May the Christmas bring joy, peace and love to your families through Christ Our Lord. Amen.
HAPPY CHRISTMAS & PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR! Jesus loves you, and so do I.

FOURTH SUNDAY OF ADVENT (Isaiah 7: 10-14): “The Lord himself therefore will give you a sign. It is this: the maiden is with child and will soon give birth to a son whom she will call Emmanuel, which means God- is-with –us.” (Rom.1:1-7): “It is about Jesus Christ…through him we received grace and our apostolic mission to preach the obedience of faith to all pagan nations in honour of his name”. (Matt.1:18-24): “All these took place to fulfil the words spoken by the Lord through the prophet: the virgin will conceive and give birth to a son and they will call him Emmanuel, a name which means, God-is-with-us”. REFLECTION: The family secret that saved the world. On this last Sunday of Advent, we are reminded of the birth of Jesus, with the same reading we listened on the weekday of the third Sunday. This repetition is a good pedagogical tool used by many teachers. The circumstances surrounding the conception of Jesus were known by Mary and Joseph alone. Mary followed the promptings of the angel of God. Joseph did also the same. It takes a good heart and good eyes to see the hand of in divine revelation; Joseph and Mary were committed, dedicated, and faithfully united to themselves. They did not share their lives with anyone except with the Holy Spirit. Mary was pregnant out of wedlock which only Joseph knew. He faces the greatest dilemma; could he admit illicit sexual relation with Mary? Could he face the risk of exposing Mary to shame and capital punishment as ascribed by law in Deut 22:23-24? Could he disobey or disregard the voice of the Angel of God in his dream? In all these trials, Joseph and Mary were faithful to the end. Their faithfulness made God’s plan effective. How do we handle our family and personal trials?
