4. Specification of SDM
4.1 Input
SDM accepts
a. This Module has provisions to take input parameters external to SDM as well as internal
to SDM.
b. It acquires 24 potential free contact inputs and 5 analog (Thermistor) inputs as described
below:

c. Inputs are Optically Isolated from field & other inputs.
d. Input scan command from host CPU to SDM may be at every 1ms.
e. Onboard Contact Interrogation Power Supply provided.
f. SDM shall be fed with +5V & +15V DC. The variation in +5V DC and +15V DC may
be +0.5% in steady state condition and +2% in transient condition with recovery time
within 500 microseconds (no test shall be carried out to demonstrate the same as it is a
design level test).
4.2 Output
a. Status of all the acquired inputs are written in appropriate register by FPGA for reading
by the host Central Processor Unit (CPU).
b. FPGA updates status of all LEDs.

4.5 Diagnostic
a. There is provision to check health of the individual contact input channel. This is
performed on power ON as well as in every cycle.
i. Force-Zero test is to simulate closed contact as input and check that the input
read is zero.
ii. Force-One test is to simulate open contact as input and check that the input read
is one.
iii. Test Sockets & test points for diagnosis are provided.
b. The Module has a 16 bit status register, which will be read by the CPU to read
diagnostics (Force-0/Force-1).
c. Test Sockets are provided for Failure Simulation of ADC and Analog.
d. Test Socket is provided for monitoring +5VP-P Ripple signal.
4.6 Other Features
a. Hot plug-in facility i.e., On-Power Module Insertion and Removal.
b. Onboard Temperature Measurement.
c. Lacquering for Protection against Moisture.
5. Quality Control
a. The bare and assembled PCB shall be manufactured as per PP-E-1443.
b. Selection of component, procurement, inward inspection, testing etc shall be as per
component policy PP-E-2061.
c. Boards shall be qualified as per ISS no. 700MWe/60000/2104/ISS.
d. During qualification of boards, functional test shall be carried out as per “System
Validation Procedure (SVP) For Mass Production Using PRAN CPU Module (SVP-
MP-PRAN) R&D-ES-700/60000/2007/SVP-3”.
6. General Notes
a. NPCIL will provide the Gerber files to the successful bidder for manufacturing.
b. No. of layers and board size are given in the Bill of Material (BM).
c. The supplier shall assemble and carry out qualification of the boards before bulk
production.
d. Test software for board/module will be provided by NPCIL.
e. Bill of material given in the ISS shall be followed. If artwork on the PCB given in the
gerber file is not changed, EMC qualification is not required. However, in case of end
of life / obsolete component as specified, bidder should propose alternate component
for the approval of NPCIL prior to its sourcing.

7. Billof Material
BM given below shall be followed for manufacturing of the board.
Any change in component due to end of life / obsolescence, vendor, shall use alternate component with prior approval of NPCIL.

4 Specification of FBP-10
4.1 Connector
a. This module is used for interfacing field Input/Output.
b. Connector Type is 64-pin Euro receptacle and 64-pin IDC (Insulation Displacement
Connector) header.
c. 64 Pin IDC header interfaces with IFM through FRC.
d. 64 Pin Euro Receptacle interfaces to IO modules such as IAIM, ICOM etc.
4.2 Other Features
Lacquering for Protection against Moisture.
5 Quality Control
a. The bare and assembled PCB shall be manufactured as per PP-E-1443.
b. Selection of component, procurement, inward inspection, testing etc shall be as per
component policy PP-E-2061.
c. Boards / components shall be qualified as per ISS no. 700MWe/60000/2104/ISS.
d. During qualification of boards, functional test shall be carried out as per “System
Validation Procedure (SVP) For Backplanes (IOBP, FBP, ISCM BP And Terminator
Board) NPCIL/R&D-ES-700/60000/2013/SVP”.

6 General Notes:
a. NPCIL will provide the Gerber files to the successful bidder for manufacturing.
b. No. of layers and board size are given in the Bill of Material (BM).
c. The supplier shall assemble and carry out qualification of the boards / components
before bulk production.
d. Bill of material given in the ISS shall be followed. If artwork on the PCB given in the
gerber file is not changed, EMC qualification is not required. However, in case of end
of life / obsolete component as specified, bidder should propose alternate component
for the approval of NPCIL prior to its sourcing.

1 Scope
Manufacturing of IOBP as per BM and Gerber including PCB fabrication, procurement of
components as per BM, assembly, qualification and testing.

4 Specification of IOBP-15
4.1 Connector
a. This module is used for interfacing I/O boards with CPU through individual 64 Pin Euro
connector (Female) for each I/O module. b. The resistive termination is required at both ends of IO Backplane.
c. +5V, +15V & +24V Power Supplies are connected to IOBP.
4.2 Other Features
Lacquering for Protection against Moisture.
5 Quality Control
a. The bare and assembled PCB shall be manufactured as per PP-E-1443.
b. Selection of component, procurement, inward inspection, testing etc shall be as per
component policy PP-E-2061.
c. Boards / components shall be qualified as per ISS no. 700MWe/60000/2104/ISS.
d. During qualification of boards, functional test shall be carried out as per “System
Validation Procedure (SVP) For Backplanes (IOBP, FBP, ISCM BP And Terminator
Board) NPCIL/R&D-ES-700/60000/2013/SVP”.
6 General Notes:
a. NPCIL will provide the Gerber files to the successful bidder for manufacturing.

b. No. of layers and board size are given in the Bill of Material (BM).
c. The supplier shall assemble and carry out qualification of the boards / components
before bulk production.
d. Bill of material given in the ISS shall be followed. If artwork on the PCB given in the
gerber file is not changed, EMC qualification is not required. However, in case of end
of life / obsolete component as specified, bidder should propose alternate component
for the approval of NPCIL prior to its sourcing.

4 Specification of IOBP-20
4.1 Connector
a. This module is used for interfacing I/O boards with CPU through individual 64 Pin Euro
connector (Female) for each I/O module.
b. The resistive termination is required at both ends of IO Backplane.
c. +5V, +15V & + 24V Power Supplies are connected to IOBP.
4.2 Other Features
Lacquering for Protection against Moisture.
5 Quality Control
a. The bare and assembled PCB shall be manufactured as per PP-E-1443.
b. Selection of component, procurement, inward inspection, testing etc shall be as per
component policy PP-E-2061.
c. Boards / components shall be qualified as per ISS no. 700MWe/60000/2104/ISS.
d. During qualification of boards, functional test shall be carried out as per “System
Validation Procedure (SVP) For Backplanes (IOBP, FBP, ISCM BP And Terminator
Board) NPCIL/R&D-ES-700/60000/2013/SVP”.
6 General Notes:
a. NPCIL will provide the Gerber files to the successful bidder for manufacturing.

b. No. of layers and board size are given in the Bill of Material (BM).
c. The supplier shall assemble and carry out qualification of the boards / components
before bulk production.
d. Bill of material given in the ISS shall be followed. If artwork on the PCB given in the
gerber file is not changed, EMC qualification is not required. However, in case of end
of life / obsolete component as specified, bidder should propose alternate component
for the approval of NPCIL prior to its sourcing.

In case of any change in component due to end of life / obsolescence, vendor shall use alternate component with prior approval of NPCIL.

This module is used for interfacing Analog Inputs from field to ISCM Module.
4.1.Connector
a. Connector Type is 64-pin Euro receptacle and 34-pin IDC (Insulation Displacement
Connector) header.
b. 34 Pin IDC header interfaces with IFM through FRC.
c. 64 Pin Euro Receptacle interfaces to ISCM modules.

1. Scope
Manufacturing of ISCMBP-P2 as per BM and Gerber including PCB fabrication, procurement
of components as per BM, assembly, qualifications and testing.
2. Application
For use in NPCIL developed Digital Instrumentation & Control Systems from GHAVP-1&2
onwards and upgradation of systems at operating stations.

4. Specification of ISCMBP-P2
This module is used for interfacing Signal Conditioned Analog Inputs from Isolated Signal
Conditioning Module to Intelligent Analog Input Module.
4.1.Connector
a. Connector Type is 64-pin Euro receptacle and two 16-pin IDC (Insulation
Displacement Connector) headers.
b. One 16 Pin IDC header interfaces to IAIM through FRC and the other is kept unused.
c. 64 Pin Euro Receptacle interfaces to ISCM modules.
4.2.Other Features
Lacquering for Protection against Moisture.
5. Quality Control
a. The bare and assembled PCB shall be manufactured as per PP-E-1443.
b. Selection of component, procurement, inward inspection, testing etc shall be as per
component policy PP-E-2061.
c. Boards shall be qualified as per ISS no. 700MWe/60000/2104/ISS.
d. During qualification of boards, functional test shall be carried out as per “System
Validation Procedure (SVP) For System Validation Procedure (SVP) For Backplanes
R&D-ES-700/60000/2013/SVP”.

6. General Notes:
a. NPCIL will supply the Gerber files to the successful bidder for PCB fabrication.
b. No. of layers and board size are given in the Bill of Material (BM).
c. The supplier shall assemble and carry out qualification of the boards / components
before bulk production.
d. Test procedure for board/module will be provided by NPCIL.
e. Bill of material given in the ISS shall be followed. If artwork on the PCB given in the
gerber file is not changed, EMC qualification is not required. However, in case of end
of life / obsolete component as specified, bidder should propose alternate component
for the approval of NPCIL prior to its sourcing.
