WELCOME BACK
TIFFANY KELLY, NSU ‘16
Tiffany Kelly, NSU ‘16, made a visit to campus on Monday, October 9, 2017. She
made two appearances on campus to talk to faculty and students about her job as a
Sports Analytics Associate at ESPN. Her office is in Bristol, Connecticut which she
explained is home to a rather large campus housing the sports network. At Noon she
presented at one of the NSU Mathematics Colloquium Series and later on that even-
ing she talked about her job search with the SPT Senior Seminar class and members
of BSSA, the Business of Sport Student Association. Tiffany, back row/blue dress,
was the founding President of BSSA. She encouraged students to get involved.
Take advantage of the many opportunities at NSU!
THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS!
Ayelen Vegas and Mitch Moczygemba, both members of BSSA, volunteered along with one
of Professor Olson’s water fitness clients, Marlene Dawdy, at the Second Annual Joseph J.
Montopoli Memorial Golf Tournament at the Davie Golf Course on October 13th. The event
is a fundraiser for Kids Can, a local non-profit, in cooperation with the Davie-Cooper City
Chamber of Commerce.
CONGRATULATIONS KELLEY KISH
Kelley has been a great friend of NSU Sport and Recreation Management. She has
not only served as a guest speaker at our classes, but she is “one of us!” She
earned a Certificate in Sport Revenue Generation during her tenure at NSU. We will
certainly miss her but we are thrilled to see her advance in the world of college ath-
letics. We wish her all the best in her new position.

We get letters . . .
I wanted to let you know we have internships posted for a few departments. They would take place from November – March, culminating with Spring Training. Local talent is appealing as a community partnership, and easier in theory with the housing market being tough during that time frame. Specifically, we are adding a 50/50 crew to the 2018 season, so energetic and re-sponsible staffers are being sought.

Thank you Lonnie Maier for speaking at the latest edition of the Women’s Suc-
cess Series. She spoke about work/life balance and urged the audience to pri-
oritize with passion and not to personalize. Look at the “glass” as 1/2 full,
cheerlead your co-workers and have fun! Listening is an important skill! Alt-
hough a formal mentor relationship is good, seek out “informal” mentors too.
