Web Pages, Maps May Help You Negotiate Top Five KC Area Work ZonesMoDOT’s Kansas City District will see concentrated construction in and around the Downtown Loop, and also north on I-35 near Claycomo and Liberty. By using all the tools MoDOT and Kansas City Scout can provide, motorists can take an active role in easing traffic congestion and minimizing delays.

Some of the biggest Kansas City area work zones this construction season feature Web pages with the latest information, maps and timelines. You can go to the MoDOT Kansas City Website www.modot.org/kansascity to find more information on the top five projects this year. You can get up to the minute traffic information through Kansas City Scout by going to www.kcscout.net. MoDOT also provides a statewide Traveler Information Map at www.modot.org that shows lane restrictions and closures here and across the state.

Park University’s School of Business Earns ACBSP Accreditation

Park University’s School of Business has earned accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs.

ACBSP is a specialized accrediting organization that reviews the quality and integrity of business degree programs. Accreditation by

ACBSP is based on an independent evaluation of an institution’s business school and programs by a group of professionals, which

include academic administrators and faculty in the field of business.

Park University is one of just three four-year colleges/universities based in the Kansas City region to be accredited by the ACBSP

and is the only independent/private college/university based on the Missouri side of the KC region to earn ACBSP accreditation.

The ACBSP criteria demonstrate that Park’s School of Business delivers excellence and continuous improvement based on the School’s mission and values. To achieve this accreditation, the

School of Business at Park University has demonstrated a strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement. The School

has also shown a strong linkage to the business community through its various advisory councils that help ensure graduates’

skills meet business needs.

BankLiberty to Acquire Patriots BankThe wholly-owned subsidiary, BankLiberty, has entered into an agreement to acquire Patriots Bank, a Missouri-chartered bank headquartered in Liberty, Missouri. Patriots Bank has Missouri Locations in Liberty, Kansas City, Parkville, and Riverside, and

approximately $86 million in total assets.

“We are excited about the merger of Patriots Bank into BankLiberty,” said Brent Giles, President and Chief Executive

Officer of BankLiberty. “The customers of Patriots Bank will continue to experience the personalized service of a community

bank but will now have the advantages of the largest branch network in the Kansas City Northland and progressive

conveniences like mobile banking.”

Founded in 1955, BankLiberty strives to develop long-term customer relationships based on service and convenience

and offers a variety of traditional loan and deposit products to individuals, families, and small businesses in the community.

BankLiberty is headquartered in Liberty, Missouri, and operates ten retail banking facilities in the Kansas City metropolitan area,

including the largest branch network in the Northland area of Clay and Platte counties.

Missouri children are safest, healthiest, best-educated in Platte CountyChildren in communities ringing the metro area continue to be some of the safest, healthiest, and best educated in Missouri, according to the latest update of a report that ranks all the state’s counties on the well-being of their youngest residents.

But Jackson County, which includes the urban core, has not budged from ranking among the lowest quarter of the 115 areas studied. The study included St. Louis City, which ranked last. The data was included in the 2012 KIDS COUNT Missouri Data Book, released earlier this month by Partnership for Children, the University of Missouri Office of Social and Economic Data Analysis, and the Children’s Trust Fund.

Platte County ranked best in the state. The ranks of other counties neighboring Jackson also were ranked high: Clay, sixth; Cass, 11th; and Lafayette, 20th, even as Jackson County ranked 86th.
