Nyora Primary School inspires respectful, responsible and resilient learners for life.
PRINCIPAL’S REPORT Our professional teachers are continually working hard to deliver a curriculum, which improves
every students learning growth. Our teachers are committed to achieving this by providing a di-
verse curriculum, which can meet all our student’s needs. We are continuing to build a positive
community spirit at Nyora Primary School with our three values of respect, resilience and responsi-
bility, at the foremost of everything we do at Nyora.P.S.
Fun Run
What an amazing successful day thanks to our hard working staff and parents. A special thank you to Robin and Eleanor for setting up the event and all the parents and grandparents who gave up their time to come along and offer their assistance. The students enjoyed their sausages and icy -pole which was organised by the Parents club. We are extremely lucky to have such great support for our school and students. All our students loved the day. I have included some photographs, so have a look.
School Wide Positive Behaviours
Sue McLaren our School Wide Positive Behaviours leader visited our school last week.
Sue was very excited about our Parent Opinion Survey data and our Students Attitudes to School
Survey, which are both showing the positive impact that SWPB is having in our school.
We are now ready to apply for our second recognition of the great work our teachers are doing by
applying for Bronze Level. Last year we received Blue Award. With the award comes $1000, which
we can put towards extending the program and gaining more resources to support it.
Next year we have been accepted into the DET Initiative, Respectful Relationships Program. We
will be able to merge the lessons from both the programs giving our students the best program to
promote respect, resilience and responsibility.
Cooking with Julie Tyson our Chaplain
It has great to see so many students enjoying their cooking session with Julie learning many valua-ble lessons about food and nutrition and how to cook simple food. The students have loved work-ing and talking with Julie. We have the Strzelecki Lions Club on board offering to help build up the cooking utensils, providing money for ingredients and are looking at joining Julie with the cooking next year. Loch Community Development
Loch Community Development were kind enough to donate money to purchase eight computers
for our school. A big thank you goes out to all involved in the Loch Community Development
group, we really appreciate this donation. Our students will be especially happy to be able to use
these new computers to complete work in the classroom.

You can help change a young life for the better. And you don’t have to be a superhero or a social worker to do it. You just need to be someone who is willing to care for – and care about – children. If this sounds like it may be you and you would like more information on becoming a foster carer. Please contact Lindsay Jarvis 5120 2000
