1st Vice November already. November means gearing up for the Christmas holidays
with Special Dinners and Dances BUT let’s not forget Monday November
11th "Remembrance Day". Our day to give Thanks to our Veterans for their
sacrifice to give us the freedom that we have today. Just remember they did
NOT have options no matter what the weather threw at them. Let’s get out and show
our support to those VETERANS who are still with us as their numbers are getting
smaller each year. See you there....

Sea Cadets I would personally like to thank all those who attended our Dedication Ceremony in honor of Commander Stock and the Stock family. The stories and shared memories of his legacy only scratched the surface of how may hearts he truly touched. Special thanks to SLt Hannon and those officers and cadets that organized this special event and to RAdm Bennett who served under Commander Stock. Sea Cadet numbers are strong this year, parading with 27 cadets and the Navy League numbers are strong as well parading with 19 cadets. Both corps are full tilt into their training schedules and routines and team training. Mini Shepard’s Pot Pie
1 package refrigerated piecrust (2 x 9 inch pie crusts)
½ lb. lean ground beef 1 (1oz) envelope onion soup mix
1 tablespoon all purpose flour ¾ cup beef broth
1 cup frozen vegetables (corn, peas and carrot blend)
11/2 cup mashed potatoes
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Unroll both piecrusts and use a 3” circle cookie cutter
(or small round bowl) to cut out 12 circles (re-roll scraps of dough to get remaining
circles). Line each cup of a 12-cavity muffin tin with the pie dough and bake for 8 to 9
minutes, or until lightly browned.
Meanwhile, brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until cooked and
crumbled. Stir in the onion soup mix and 1 tablespoon of flour and cook for1 minute.
Pour in the beef broth, scraping any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet and
then add in the frozen vegetable mix. Continue cooking and stirring for an additional 2
to 3 minutes until the liquid has thickened and the veggies are mostly heated through.
Scoop ¼ cup of the meat mixture into the piecrusts, then
top each mini pie with 2 tablespoons of mashed
potatoes. Continue baking for an additional 20 to 25
minutes, till the piecrusts are golden brown. Turn on the
top broiler for the last 2 minutes to lightly brown the
mashed potatoes if desired. Run a butter knife around the
edge of the mini pies to gently remove and serve
warm. Enjoy!

1/2 cup pepperoni slices, cut into small pieces
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Marinara sauce for dipping, optional

CHEESY TACO STICKS
1 lb. ground beef 1 tube Pillsbury Pizza Dough
1 packet taco seasoning mix (or homemade taco seasoning)
½ inch cut from a thin brick of cheddar cheese
4 tbsp butter, melted 1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp dried parsley
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
Lightly coat a large baking sheet with non-stick spray and set aside.
.Cook the ground beef in a skillet, breaking up with a wooden
spoon until fully browned and crumbled. Drain any fat and return
skillet to stove top. Mix in the taco seasoning packet (but no water)
and stir until fully coated. Remove from heat and let cool to room
temperature.
Spread the pizza dough out until it’s flat and cut in half lengthwise
and then 4 cuts up and down, creating a total of 10 small rectangles.
Place about a tablespoon or more of the taco
meat in the center of each pizza dough, top with a cheese stick
and then carefully roll up the pizza stick, making sure to pinch all
seams closed.
Combine the melted butter, garlic powder and parsley in a small
bowl and brush it on the tops of the cheesy taco sticks. Bake for
10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown on top. Serve hot with
your favorite taco toppings!

At a wedding party recently, someone yelled “all married people please stand next to the one person who has made your life worth living.” The bartender was almost crushed to death……..
Why did I get divorced? Well, last week was my birthday. My wife didn't wish
me a happy birthday. My parents forgot and so did my kids. I went to work and
even my colleagues didn't wish me a happy birthday. As I entered my office, my
secretary said, "Happy birthday, boss!" I felt so special. She asked me out for
lunch. After lunch, she invited me to her apartment. We went there and she said,
"Do you mind if I go into the bedroom for a minute?" "Okay," I said. She came
out 5 minutes later with a birthday cake, my wife, my parents, my kids, my
friends, & my colleagues all yelling, "SURPRISE!!!" while I was waiting on the
sofa... naked.
Sometimes... when you cry ... no one sees your tears...
sometimes... when you are happy... no one sees your smile... But fart just one time...
Old people poke me at weddings and tell me "your next" So I started doing the same thing to them at funerals.
