Happy Thanksgiving!
Ron and I just returned from the joy of celebrating our 51st weddinganniversary with a cruise. It was an extra joy because he was so illthis year that this anniversary was uncertain--so we have a lot to bethankful for. Thanksgiving is always a time to look back over the yearand give thanks for the blessings we have been given. I give thanks forthe opportunity to be your Council Representative. Thank you.
Council Meeting, Monday Night, 7pmThis Monday night the Council will listen to public comment during oralcommunications on increasing the size of our Police Department andwill discuss ways to possibly fund an increase by 2 officers. For manyreasons, crime is up and funding is down. I believe we need more
officers in order to have a more visible presence inour neighborhoods and visitor serving areas to deterthose who would come to Seal Beach to do harm.Please join the discussion as we grapple with how topay for more officers. Southern California Edison Pole Replacement ProgramSCE has been in the process and will continue over the next couple ofmonths to replace old poles with new ones to increase reliability in ourtown. If you are to be impacted by an outage or pole replacement,you will be notified by SCE a few days prior to their starting a projectaffecting your home or business. For more information on outages,you can register with SCE for Outage Alerts. Proactive Outage Alertsinform you of power outages (maintenance and repair) impacting yourhome or business. Seal Beach Annual Thanksgiving DinnerThis year the annual Thanksgiving Dinner is againbeing put on by your Chamber of Commerce inpartnership with Saint Anne's Church. If you orsomeone you know would like to come and shareThanksgiving together, the dinner will begin withBingo at 11am and dinner is served at noon at St.Anne's on 10th Street and PCH. There is only onesitting so please make reservations by calling
McKenze at the Chamber Office. If you have some time to volunteer tomake this year's dinner as great as they have been in the past, pleasecall McKenze at the Chamber Office (562) 799-0179. Your help isgreatly appreciated.

Seal Beach Municipal Pier UpdateOn August 9, 2017, the Coastal Commission voted toapprove the Permit for upgrades and structural repairsto the City of Seal Beach Municipal Pier. The permitwas approved for the upgrade of utility lines
on the pier (including water,sewer, gas and electricallines), along with structuralrepairs (to cracked concreteencasements, broken piles,handrails, stringers, braces,and some decking). An update will be providedat the City Council meetingon Monday, November 13,2017.
