Dear Readers,

Thanks so much for taking your time out to read this

edition of my magazine! This issue is mainly about winter

time & giving & of course shopping! which is my favorite

time of the year because that includes CHRISTMAS! We

decided to give our readers the inside scoop on what teen

stars do for the holidays and also what guys should get for

girls because i know a lot of guys have a hard time + we

wanted to bring light to a special girl who got cancer in

2012 but didn't let that stop her whole life! So enjoy

rivalry and Jake bag kidnapping Reggie,

they team up and hijack a time machine

in a government lab and travel back in

time to the first Thanksgiving to prevent

turkeys from becoming the traditional

holiday meal. This movie will feature

voices from Owen Wilson,

Woody Harrelson and Amy Poehler. The

filmed started shooting in june 2009 and

was originally named turkey (simple

right?) Originally scheduled for

November 14, 2014, the film was moved

up by a year to November 1, 2013, due to

the vacant slot left after the delay of Mr.

Peabody & Sherman.In March 2013, the

film was retitled to Free Birds.

Hopefully this should be the best

thanksgiving movie of all time since it is

the only thanksgiving movie of all time!

he Hunger Games: Catching Fire is an upcoming American science-fiction adventure film based on

Suzanne Collins' novel, Catching Fire, the second installment in The Hunger Games trilogy. In this Hunger

Games, the tributes will be reaped from the existing pool of victors, making all the other Games look like

child's play. As Peeta and Katniss end up in the arena again (as the only victors of District 12 with the

exception of Haymitch), this time surrounded by experienced and vicious killers, President Snow is

determined to eliminate them and destroy the rays of hope and the sparks of rebellions brewing up in the

Districts again and ignite the flames of rebellion in Panem. Sounds Awesome Right? Tell us what you

A: "We don't really have family up here

in NY and haven't been able to go back

to Florida for the holidays yet but My

mom and my siblings and I get together

and make TONS of our favorite foods,

and we spend it together. We are from

Florida so snow is new and a big deal -

last year we built a "mountain" in our

yard and sled down it. lol it was fun.

We also try to volunteer to help

someone in need, especially the

homeless, and we always donate things

to children whose families can't afford

to do for them, or pets in the

shelters with no one to love them. "

family has a Yankee Swap each year, it soooo much fun.

The best part is when my mom and I go shopping for

gifts for those who are having a tough year though

organizations like food pantries and Toys for Tots (to

name a few). I can only imagine all the happiness on

Christmas morning."

Alexis is a goal driven,highlydetermined,fashionable 17 year old cancerpatiant who has been battling cancer since2012. There were never any health issues in herfamily.Alexis was 16, When she took a trip to thedocter to determine why her knee wasbothering her in a painful state. " It had beenhurting for about a week and the pain wasgrowing quickly, I never thought anything waswrong at the time but maybe growing pains."alexis said.The day they went to the doctors, the docterstold them that they thought it was just growingpains or her patella(kneecap)was off track. Herknee pains countinued to grow so they wentback for the 5th time and an MRI was orderedbut they came to find out that their insuranccedidn't cover it. They searched for another DRwho would give her an MRI for her knee andthey found one on March 7, 2013. They stillwanted a full body MRI after that, even thoughthe first time they requested a full body MRI itwas denied, on March 15 they got one. The Dr'sbegan to discuss the MRI's with alexis's motherjenifer and they said that it looked to them likea form of Bone Cancer. After being sent toAlanta for a biopsy, it was confirmed.

Q: As A Mother, how did you feel when youfound out that alexis had cancer?

A: " I was extremely hurt,confused, and angry atgod" said jennifer (alexis mother)

Q:When you told her that she had bone cancer,how did she react?

A:" i told her and the first thing she said was, dont cry mom, I will be alright, i'm notworried".When you found out that you had cancer whatwent through your mind?" Nothing at the beginning, but throughout myjourney i've thought about things like how thishinders my future, like i can't go into the airforce now so i wonder what god has for me"said alexis on april 2, 2013 , alexis had her first chemo. onapril 18,2013 her hair began to come out." i was ready to chop it all off before the chemocame to steal it and run :). at first i was prettycalm about it, but now...these follicis need toreappear pronto! people just stare and i forgetand im like why are

Q: Has alexis changed anyway?

A: "NO WAY, She is still crazy & extremely silly like she hasalways been, She is WONDERFUL, she has had some sad days(when she thinks about her future) but not many. " saidJennifer

Q: Was it hard to find resources for this?

A: "No, we were assigned a caseworker at the hospital whospecializes in cancer families care; and a teacher from Lexi'sschool (not her teacher) heard about us & came over to helpus & is still helping us today. said Jennifer

Q: What would you say to other cancer patients?

A: "Never be sad or angry it will just make you feel worse, justlook at it this way, WE (us cancer patients) were CHOSEN byGOD to be Beautiful Angels in disguise to help others who arehaving a hard time with this horrible disease. Always haveHOPE & FAITH!" said alexis

In november, 2012 , Jennifer had to stopworking ,in order to take care of alexis,which brought her income to zero. withthe help of a teacher from alexis school,jonathan's ark, jay's hope, and fb, theyhave managed to fight through. " ireceive facebook messages and callsfrom people who tell me that they arehere for me but overall i am doing thisalone,at home i am alone & at thehospital i am aloe & at the hospital i amalone ; but the financial support nowthat is amazing to me the people whohelped us are god's angels on earth , wewould be in an homeless shelter if itweren't for them." said jenifer

In july 2013 , alexis had a 17th birthdaybut chose not to celebrate it this year. " ichoose not to do anything because iwanted to fully enjoy my birthday minusall of the cancer obstacles, i'm going allout july 12,2014 by combining mygraduation party with my birthday partyand my cancer free party. (party overhere........woop woop!) " said alexis.

In August 2013, she had her tumor in herknee removed and replaced with atitanium knee. according to her mother, shes doing better then ever.

Q: What would you say to other parents who got children this way ?

A: " If your doing this ALONE like me, be prepared to beoverwhelmed but KNOW that you CAN do this, Do NOT let yourchild see you cry, buy a journal or notebook to record ALL themedicine schedules, write down EVERYTHING: when they go to thebath rm to how much they eat & drink, Do not be afraid to ask theDr. questions, Get help from EVERYWHERE do not be afraid orashamed to beg because there are A LOT of people who have madeit their job to help cancer families also do your own search to findhelp, I found help that the caseworker did not inform me of, I willNOT say "take some time for yourself" like A LOT of people havesuggested that I do, because I refuse to relax until my baby iscancer free but that's just ME! Last, PRAY, its the only thing thatgives me Peace, yes I stopped being mad at GOD a couple of daysafter her diagnosis said Jennifer

"I'm too determined, and will not letthis bother me, my dreams are too bigto just give up on them! " said alexis"

Q: How were you able to stay strong?

A: " She is my LIFE, I am all she has, I asked GOD to give mestrength and he did, this I know because there were days Ibarely slept 4hrs or less because of her pain yet I jumped everytime she called me without any hesitation. " said Jennifer

Q: Every girl has a dream, what is yours?

A: " Most of my dreams have changed due tothis cancer (I wanted to join the AirForce but now I have aTitanium Knee) , my #1 dream is MODELING!!!!!! I have wantedto model since I was 4, I use to love putting on my moms heals. I also want to be a motivational speaker. " said alexis

Q: Since this happened , have you changed at all?

A: "Not at all. I am and always will be the same ol' little weirdfunny Alexis." said alexis

Q: How are you so strong?

A: "I'm too determined, and will not let this bother me, mydreams are too big to just give up on them! " said alexis

Q: What information do you have for ALL parents?

A: "If your child complains of constant pain, get an MRIimmediately, do not ASK, TELL them you want one, if you dont,and the child has cancer it can QUICKLY spread to vitalorgans!!" said jenifer

What You Need:1 cup butter, softened1 cup granulated sugar1 large egg1 teaspoon vanilla extract2 teaspoons baking powder3 cups all-purpose

This is a nice sugar cookie whichdoesn't require that you chill thedough before you roll it out. Werecommend you roll it out betweentwo sheets of waxed paper toprevent sticking.

Preheat oven to 375F. In a largebowl, cream butter and sugar withan electric mixer. Beat in eggs andvanilla. Add baking powder andflour one cup at a time, mixingafter each addition. Dough will bestiff. Do not chill dough. Dividedough in half. Roll each half about1/8 inch thick. Dip cutters into flourbefore each use. Bake cookies onungreased cookie sheet on middlerack of oven for 8-12 minutes, oruntil cookies are lightly browned.
