This laser samples alternatively the height above the ground and above the vegetation. Thus, the pilot can follow one or the other according to the importance of the vegetation on the survey. The height variations between adjacent profiles are thus minimized and corrugation is considerably reduced. Quality controls are integrated in the normal survey procedures and starts from the establishment of the flights path until the delivery of the final data and reports to the client. During the survey, quality controls are regularly performed by the Project Manager. In flight, the quality controls are computer-performed and the pilot interrupts the survey if the geophysical or/and aeronautical parameters don’t meet the survey specifications.

COLIBRI has been designed by Novatem for surveys

requiring both tight-draped and low height

measurements. The helicopter flies close to the ground

    and follows the topography precisely.

The clearance of the helicopter is measured accurately

by a laser altimeter of centimetric precision. This laser

samples alternatively the height above the ground and

above the vegetation. Thus, the pilot can follow one or

the other according to the importance of the vegetation

    on the survey.

The height variations between adjacent profiles are

thus minimized and corrugation is considerably

reduced. Therefore, only the control lines located at the

end of the traverse lines are necessary, which

    significantly decreases the price.

The magnetometers are located in front of the

helicopter as far as possible by means of a stinger

    developed and certified by Novatem.

The certification of the system on floats enables flights

    over water.

Novatem staff constant dedication to quality, improves

again the high resolution data collected via COLIBRI.

Quality controls are integrated in the normal survey

procedures and starts from the establishment of the

flights path until the delivery of the final data and

    reports to the client.

During the survey, quality controls are regularly

performed by the Project Manager. In flight, the quality

controls are computer-performed and the pilot

interrupts the survey if the geophysical or/and

aeronautical parameters don’t meet the survey

    specifications.
