To be held on Monday, 11th November

Top Floor Function Room

30 Warabrook Blvd, Warabrook

6:30pm Refreshments 7:00pm Annual Meeting

A great opportunity to meet the Board of Directors, Management and staff.

Hear, first hand, what has happened over the last 12 months.

Ask questions and make suggestions!

Ample parking is available at the front of the building.

During this time, Rhema FM completed its mandatory 5-Yearly Broadcasting Licence application for the Australian Communication and Media Authority (Federal Government Body). It took some seventeen weeks to complete, with the document consisting of 456 pages containing 98,367 words! To say it was a big job is an understatement.

On top of this, Rhema FM began construction of the new studios and facilities at Warabrook, in August 2018. Construction and fit-out was completed by late January and we moved in on Friday, 8th February. Broadcasting from Warabrook began on Monday 11th February. We’re looking forward to seeing you all at our AGM on Monday, 11th November. In the past, we’ve held our AGM at the Charlestown Bowling Club. This year, however, we’re holding it at our new studios and facilities at 30 Warabrook Boulvard, Warabrook, and we’d love to show you around. The meeting will be a great opportunity to meet the Rhema team as well as fellow Rhema members, hear what’s planned for the coming year, ask questions and make suggestions.

So let’s make this AGM the biggest ever and we’ll see you here at Warabrook.

John Marks, CEO.

From The CEO...It’s almost that time of year again when we all get together at Rhema FM’s Annual General Meeting, held in November, each year. And what an extraordinary year it’s been over the past 12 months!

So, Rhema helped out by broadcasting an interview with the Principal of the school, who described his community’s situation and needs.

Trundle School’s wish list included things like tools, sport equipment, packaged and tinned food and children’s clothing. Macquarie Life Church organised a collection day, and volunteers trucked the donated goods out to the school.

The organiser of the appeal, Danick Buskermolen, said, “It was clear that many listeners from Rhema had heard the interview and turned up on the collection day, with donations. We nearly filled the truck with an abundance of items on the schools’ wish list”.

John Southon, the Principal of Trundle Central School, wrote to Rhema, expressing the school’s thanks for the support they received from Rhema. “Your generosity is yet another example of what binds together individuals into a community. My students now know Rhema FM Newcastle- where it is geographically and the quality of the people within the network. Rhema’s support is an indication that our students are not alone and they know they are important.”

Thank you to our many listeners who supported this appeal. We are glad that Christian radio in The Hunter could be such a support to others, well beyond the reach of our broadcast.

Rhema Reaches Out TO TRUNDLE

While Rhema’s radio transmission cannot be picked up in the Central West of New South Wales, a recent Rhema broadcast did help to make a difference to the lives of the people of Trundle, in the grip of the extended drought. Rhema became aware of an appeal being conducted on behalf of the Trundle Central School, by Macquarie Life Church. They were collecting goods that were on the school’s ‘Drought Wish-List’ – goods that, in turn, would be a huge help to those in the Trundle district affected by the drought.

Dorothy - It wasn’t long after I became a Christian, back in 1987, that I came across Rhema FM on my radio. When I heard the words of the songs and the people at Rhema talking about Jesus, I was so thrilled! It meant so much to hear God’s Word put to music, so I could praise and worship with others, and to be able to learn how to cope with life in a whole different way! I’ve found that God talks to me in song, and this keeps the perseverance and motivation going throughout the day! Thank you dear Rhema, and all you faithful people who keep on going too! God bless you.

What Does RhemaMEAN TO ME?

The Pulse Newsletter | Rhema FM | 4 3 | Rhema FM | The Pulse Newsletter

Rhema listeners were recently asked to share their thoughts on the question, “What does Rhema Mean to You?” The responses that we received revealed some amazing stories about the difference that Rhema has made to the lives of individuals. Here are just a few of those responses:

Corinna- I am a mother/wife of two girls aged 11 and 13, and a carer to my husband of 15 years. My girls and I have been listening to your station in the car everywhere we go. Unfortunately, my husband does not like Christian music and debates with me about God. I love your music. We enjoy listening to Joyce Myer, and hang on to any bit of wisdom that will give us hope for the future in these changing times. Without God it would be very hard. Knowing God makes me feel that we can breathe easier. His voice keeps us on the path.

Andrew - After many years of listening to Rhema FM, I know I’ll always hear something that is encouraging, insightful or uplifting. In particular, I’ve found my “shed time” (doing some woodwork in the garage) really enjoyable when I have the “TCM countdown” filling it. That’s because Rhema brings a very tangible reminder of God’s love, the good news of Jesus and His presence through the airwaves! No doubt, Rhema FM is one of my favourite “go-to’s”, to hear how good God is. Thankyou Rhema!

If you would like to share some thoughts on what Rhema means to you, please email [email protected].

STAFF NEWSCongratulationsAARON AND LIZ! Aaron and Liz Brown give thanks to God for the gift of their daughter, Aurelia Margaret Joy, born on 19th July. Aaron is Rhema’s Music Director, and recently when asked about the experience, Aaron said, “Aurelia is the most beautiful baby born… She clearly takes after her father! She brings us lots of joy.”

We join with Aaron and Liz in giving thanks for the safe arrival of Aurelia. Our prayers are with them as they begin life, together, as a family.
