    WKAR partners with Michigan Education Trust to provide books for kidsThrough a special partnership with Michigan Education Trust (MET), every donation made during the WKAR Radio Fall Fundraiser provided a book for a child in need in our community—more than 600 books!

    WKAR Welcomes Ernest GreenJoining the MSU Homecoming festivities, WKAR hosted a special film screening of The Road to Little Rock and a one-on-one conversation with Grand Marshal Ernest Green and Prabu David, MSU College of Communication Arts and Sciences dean. Green, a member of the Little Rock Nine, shared his story of unwavering courage to an audience of students, faculty, and community members on October 4 in WKAR's Studio A.     An Evening with Dr. Mona Hanna-AttishaWKAR's Radio Manager Peter Whorf recently hosted a National Writers Series event in Traverse City. Whorf had the chance to sit down and interview Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha on her recent book What the Eyes Don’t See.
