We are in the process of reigniting the flame of the English Cursillo. Come live your 4th Day by joining us for an Ultreya on Sunday, June 24th and July 29th from 6:30 - 8:00am at St Mary Magdalene, located at 2777 Zenobia Street.
What is Cursillo?
It is defined as a ‘short course in Christianity.’ The Cursillo Movement is a movement within the Catholic Church that shares the fundamental of being Christian as an individual and in a community. Cursillo makes it possible for anyone in the world to live a Christian life in a natural way. It is the means by which men and women are able to live the Gospel.

Notre Dame Parish Finance Council Meeting February 23, 2018 Minutes
Members Present: Al Duran, Chair, Ron Carlson, Heidi Ernst, Tim McKenna, Tom Schaeffer and Mike Strawbridge. Members Absent: Ted Gerity Staff Present: Father Ed Buelt, Ron Schreier, and Rian Ross
Father Ed opened the meeting with a prayer to the Holy Spirit and the Litany of Mary including personal intercessions. The council read the Gospel Reading for February 27th and participated in the reflections.
APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Father Ed turned the meeting over to Al Duran to conduct the business sections of the meeting. Al Duran called for consideration of the minutes of the meeting of January 26. Some grammatical and verbiage changes were offered by Mike Strawbridge. Ron Carlson made a motion to accept the minutes with the recommended changes. The motion was seconded by Mike Strawbridge and accepted unanimously.
RECURRING BUSINESS: Al Duran asked Ron Schreier to report on the status of the operating condition of the parish. Ron began the discussion with an explanation of the recurring items to the new members of the council. He indicated that there were no significant changes in the financial condition of the parish. He further offered an explanation of the Statement of Accounts section of the recurring business to the new members and then completed an update. In his report Ron Schreier offered that a revised projected shortfall had been calculated. This projection showed a net shortfall of $90,000 for FY 2017-2018. This included a shortfall from the school of $126,000 and a positive net from the church of $35,000 which resulted in the $90,000 figure.
NEW BUSINESS: The next section of the meeting was new business. In this section, a landscaping proposal for the front area of the church and grotto area was presented to the council. A discussion followed; prioritizing this project into smaller individual pieces was discussed. Further consideration of this plan was postponed until a future meeting.
Next a discussion followed concerning the marketing and sales of the two houses at 2160 and 2162 Zenobia St. This discussion included a report from Father Ed that the Archdiocese of Denver had expressed an interest in possibly purchasing the properties. This discussion included the preparation of the properties for sale. Following this discussion, a motion was made by Mike Strawbridge and seconded by Tim McKenna to have Father Ed pursue the archdiocesan interest and at the same time continue to prepare the properties to be listed for sale with a target date of April 2, 2018. The motion was approved.
EXECUTIVE SESSION: At this point the council went into executive session. NEXT MEETING DATE: The next meeting date was originally scheduled for March 16, 2017, but
was rescheduled for April 27, 2018 to allow for the preliminary budget to be completed in order to begin its review at the April meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 12:05 am. Respectfully submitted
