CHURCH NEWS

A Tribute to Trinity’s Poet Laureate

Who would true poetry hear,

let them come hither;

Margaret’s verse will constant be,

alone, we’re joined together;

there’s no discouragement,

masks, spacing, washing hands,

shall make her once relent

from putting pen to paper.

So from yonder, far-off March,

to-o-o this August,

our spirits have been raised

by Langsford’s lyrics.

Now, launched to find our fate,

we thank our Poet Laureate

for all the rhymes she did create

to keep us going.

Definitely Anon

(to the tune [nearly] of Who would true valour see, [R&S 557])

Diary Date:

Thank You: A big thank you to all the helpers who worked very hard to make

Sunday s lunch so successful. I’m sure everyone appreciated the opportunity to meet

and share time with friends we’ve not seen for a long while and it was a happy

welcome back to Trinity again after the service together.

Thank you also to the Trustees and Stewards and those who kept Trinity going

throughout the last 18 months. This must include Eluned in the office, who sent out

notices and the weekly service, keeping all of us in touch.

A huge thank you for everyone’s input during difficult times.

A Trinity member.

The Lunch raised over £470 to be split between the Red Cross and Trinity.

Thank you all for your generosity!

A BIG thank you to those who came to the toddler cutting out session. It has made a

huge difference and is more than appreciated. Dcn Selina

Trinity Directory: we are currently compiling a new Trinity Directory. You should

have received an email / letter outlining the contact details we hold for you and

seeking explicit permission to include in the new edition. If you have not, or if you

have not yet replied, please contact the office. Inclusion is voluntary and we can

include as much or as little information as you wish. Eluned

Action for Children - coffee and tea morning on Saturday 18th September 10am to

12 noon. There is a ‘sign up’ sheet in church for people to volunteer to bake for, or

help set up, serve or clear away for the AfC Coffee Morning next week. Do take a

look.

Gift Aid Envelopes: Our stock of white, general Gift Aid envelopes (not weekly

envelopes) is running low. If anyone has a batch that they have taken for an event,

can you please return the surplus to the drawer in the steward's table in the welcome

area. Thanks, Tom Kyffin

Trinity Gardens:

you may notice a few changes to the flower bed in front of the church over the next

month or so. Some of the shrubs have become old and woody and are riddled with

bindweed. We plan to dig them out, treat the weed as best we can and replace with

new flowers and shrubs. By next summer we hope to have a good display.
