NOTICE OF PUBLIC PARTICIPATION: PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT OF A FUEL SERVICE STATION AND
ASSOCIATED INFRASTRUCTURE ON ERF 164232, MUIZENBERG SEC PROJECT NUMBER: 06125 Project Proposal: Astron Energy (Pty) Ltd, is proposing to develop a new fuel service station and associated facilities on Erf 164232, Muizenberg. It is proposed that the fuel will be stored in five 30m3 capacity underground storage tanks. A left in only access to the fuel service station is proposed from St George Street (M5), a full entrance and exit is proposed at Eastbourne Street. Location: Erf 164232 located on the corner of Prince George Drive (M5) and St George’s Street in Muizenberg. Applicable Legislation: The proposed development triggers the following activities which are listed in terms of the 2014 EIA Regulations, as amended, published under the National Environmental Management Act, Act No. 107 of 1998 (NEMA): Listing Notice 1: Activity 14 and 19; Listing Notice 3: Activity 12 Opportunity to Participate: SEC has been appointed by Astron Energy (Pty) Ltd to undertake an Environmental Authorisation & Basic Assessment EIA Process for the proposed new fuel service station development. You are hereby notified of the possibility to register as an Interested and Affected Party (I&AP); and of the availability of the Pre-Application Draft Basic Assessment Report and Environmental Management Programme for your review and comment. Please submit comments in writing, to Lauren Elston, giving your name and contact details as well as an indication of your interest in this matter and of any direct business, financial, personal or other interest that you may have in relation to this proposal. Please quote the SEC project number, 06125, in all correspondence. The report is available electronically on the SEC website: www.environmentalconsultants.co.za.
