Orange Revolution
The Orange Revolution was a series of protests and political events that tookplace in Ukraine from late November 2004 to January 2005. It was theaftermath of the runoff vote of the 2004 Ukrainian presidential election whichwas claimed to be marred by massive corruption, voter intimidation and directelectoral fraud.
Pavlo Virsky
Pavlo Virsky was an innovative dancer,balletmaster, choreographer, andfounder of the P. Virsky UkrainianNational Folk Dance Ensemble, whosework in Ukrainian dance wasgroundbreaking and influencedgenerations of dancers.
Moths

Vinnytsia Oblast
Vinnytsia Oblast is known for having the world'slargest deposit of kaolin, a white clay used in themanufacture of fine china. The oblast is alsorich in many other mineral resources, includingbrown coal and pelicanite, and granite.

Heorhiy Yakutovich was aUkrainian artist known forhis woodcuts, etchings,and linocut. This stampshows his work entitled"Shepherd"
Aivazovsky ArtGallery
Aivazovsky Art Galleryhas a superb display ofpaintings by IvanAivazovsky. His geniuslay in his ability to paintwater and seascape. Itbecame the first public artgallery in Ukraine (1880).Pictured on this setenatare: Sea, Koktebel 1853(left), the art gallery(middle), and Towers on arock near Bosporus 1869 (right).
Tsyklon3
The Tsyklon3 was aSoviet, and subsequentlyUkrainian orbital carrierrocket. A derivative of theR36 ICBM, it made itsmaiden flight on 24 June1977, and was retired on30 January 2009.
Zenit2
The Zenit2 is a Ukrainian,previously Soviet,expendable carrier rocket.First flown in 1985, it hasbeen launched 37 times,with six failures.
Kosmos 1
Kosmos 1 was atechnology demonstrationand ionospheric researchsatellite launched by theSoviet Union in 1962
Dnepr1
Dnepr1 is a convertedICBM used to launchsattelites into orbit. As of2005, it has had 5successful launches.

End of World War II
To celebrate the 60thAnniversary of the end ofWorld War II, Ukraineissued both a stamp andsouvenir sheet. Thestamp shows allied forcescrossing the Dnipro River.The souvenir sheet showsa soldier returning fromwar with his girlfriendleaning against him.
9th National Stamp Exhibition
The 9th Nation Stamp Exhibition took place inthe Ukrainian Capital of Kiev.
Eurovision 2005
The Eurovision Song Contest 2005 was the 50th Eurovision Song Contest, whichwas held at the Palace of Sports, Kiev, Ukraine. The contest took place on 1May19th for the semifinals, and May 21 for the final. Ukraine issued two differentstamps to commemorate the event: one for Ukrainian singer Ruslana, and theother, a stamp to commemorate the event.
Gastronomy
The 2005 Europa stamp theme was gastronomy. Ukraine issued a setenantpair featuring a bowl of borsch, a serving pot with lid, and various vegetables.
Slavic Writing andCulture
This stamp commemoratesSlavic writing and culture. Itshows the letter A along withsome Slavic symbolism andreligious icons.

Sevastopol
Sevastopol is located on the Black Sea coast ofthe Crimean peninsula. Sevastopol is thesecond largest port in Ukraine, after the Port ofOdessa. It is home to both the Ukrainian Navyand the Russian Black Sea Fleet.

Volodymyr Vynnychenko was a Ukrainian writer, playwright, artist, politicalactivist and revolutionary, politician,and statesman. Vynnychenko is recognized in Ukrainian literature as a leading modernist writer in prerevolutionaryUkraine.

Zhytomyr Oblast is an oblast of northernUkraine. The northern part of the province ishighly affected by the Chernobyl disaster: someof the towns are devastated and are included inthe Chernobyl zone.

Dmytro Yavornytsky was a notedUkrainian historian, archeologist,ethnographer, folklorist, andlexicographer. He was one of the mostprominent researchers of the UkrainianCossacks, especially the ZaporozhianCossacks.

Church of St. Barbara
St. Barbara's Church in Vienna is the oldestUkrainian Catholic church outside of Ukraine.It was established in 1783 by Austrian EmporerJosef II.
Lviv National Museum
The Lviv National Museum is one of Ukraine's largest museums,dedicated to Ukrainian culture in all its manifestations. It was establishedby Archbishop Andrey Sheptytsky in 1905. The left stamp shows an iconof the archangel Michael. The right stamps shows the painting Dalmatinkaby Teofil Kopistinsky.

These stamps depict the native costumes worn by individuals in diffrent regions during specific folk cultural orreligious celebrations.
The first area represented is Zhytomyrshchyna Region. The first stamp depicts a festive scene from New Year'sCelebrations. The second stamp depicts a Summer Celebrations scene.
The second area represented is the RivenshchynaI Region. The first stamp shows a festive scene from St.George's Celebrations. The second stamp shows a festive scene from St. Peter and St.Paul Celebrations.
The third area represented is the Volyn Region. The first stamp shows a festive scene from AnnunciationCelebrations. The second stamp shows a scene from St.Nicholas Celebrations.
