Any student interested in getting Working Papers must see the school nurse to obtain the required forms or download them on our school website. These forms must be completed by parents and returned to the nurse with a copy of the student’s birth certificate. Also required is a note from your physician stating that the student has had a physical and is able to work. Since the nurse is not available during the summer months please plan ahead.

A group of students from the Class of 2015 will be leaving for their senior trip to Disney World this month. They will be leaving on Friday, March 13th and returning on Tuesday March 17th. We’d like to wish them a safe and fun trip!

If you communicate with teachers via email through PlusPortals, please remember to include your email address in the message. Return email addresses do not automatically appear with your communication and as a result, teachers may have trouble replying promptly to your questions.

Graduation will take place on Saturday, June 6th at 9:00am at the Colden Auditorium of Queens College. All academic and athletic scholarships will be listed in the graduation program next to your son or daughter’s name. Please have your child give a copy of any scholarship letter he or she receives to Mrs. McCabe in Rm 207. Remember to include scholarships awarded by various organizations (Knights of Columbus, Sons of Italy and Union Scholarships, etc.) We will need this information no later than April 13h, 2015.

Derived from the Beatitudes in St. Matthew’s Gospel, we are always challenged to do corporal works of mercy for the least favored in our world. In this Year of Montagne, these works of mercy take on a different meaning. From a Rosary Rally to our Annual Fast-a-Thon we will be engaging in various events that bring these practical deeds to life- doing the Lord’s work as Christ asks us to do. Please encourage your child to partake in these events. Dates and more specifics will be posted via announcements and Edmodo. Within our annual Lenten traditions, we will also have our Reconciliation service on March 24th, with 11 priests from neighboring parishes coming to hear confessions for the entire student body. Our annual Fast-A-Thon will take place on Wednesday March 25th which involves students giving up lunch for the day. They will be asking family, friends and loved ones to help sponsor them for this very worthwhile experience. Every year we raise at least $2000 for those who are less fortunate. The season of Lent will culminate with our Holy Week Liturgy on Wednesday April 1st at 8am in the Jack Curran Gym. Our promise of prayers for all of you during this holy season of Lent. Graduation

cAMp MAriSt Camp Marist was founded in 1949 on the beautiful shores of Ossipee Lake by The Marist Brothers. After having established numerous elementary and high schools throughout the world, the Brothers wished to create a camp which complemented what they were doing in their schools. Camp Marist is a traditional residential summer camp for boys and girls, ages 6 to 16. Nestled on 300 acres in the White Mountain region of New Hampshire, it offers children an opportunity to continue learning about their faith, learn about character and community, develop strong self-esteem and self-awareness, and grow in confidence while practicing new skills. It’s goal is to provide positive, life-enhancing experiences for all participants in our programs and for members of our surrounding community, including those less fortunate. Camp Marist strives to offer a stimulating and fun-filled environment, which fosters personal growth in faith, mind, body, and friendship through challenging and educational activities.

Let each one of us spend the days of Lent, not doing heroic

deeds, but simple acts of kindness and concern.
