John Forbes opened the Medicap Pharmacy in 1980 and has occupied 3 different locations on Douglas Avenue over the past 36 years. Mr Forbes outlined for the club the many ways the role of the pharmacist has changed over the years.

When he started as a pharmacist, the majority of his work was filling prescrip-tions; now the majority of his work is consulting with patients. Rotary Foundation Turns 100

During 2016-17, the Rotary Foundation turns 100. That’s a century of Rotary members changing lives and improving communities all over the world. And that’s definitely something worth celebrating.

Through the Foundation, Rotary members have supported thousands of projects to provide clean water, fight disease, promote peace, provide basic education, and grow local economies. Through the Foundation, Rotary has also been a leader in the fight to eradicate polio worldwide.

One way the Rotary Club of Northwest Des Moines is celebrating the Foundation's Centennial is by selling Rotary Foundation magnetic signs to put on members’ cars. Magnets are approximately 8 1/2" by 11." We are hoping that our members will fill the parking lot on Fridays with cars advertising the Rotary Foundation Centennial.

See Jim Arthur to purchase your magnetic sign(s). Signs are $10 for members of our club and $12 for the public.
