Dear New Students and Parents:It is a pleasure to welcome you to the

Northwest University community. Many of you already have a relationship with us that has lasted for generations in your family, but others are coming to us for the first time.

If you are brand new to Northwest, we sincerely hope that your first experiences with us will set the tone for a lifetime—and perhaps even generations—of positive memories, personal growth, and spiritual blessing. For those who are carrying on a tradition at Northwest, we promise to keep things the way they have always been by continually

changing! We are a school that has always tried to stay in step with God’s mission in the world.

We are excited you have chosen to join our community and look forward to your contribution in the future—we are confident God has great things in store for you. I hope that I will have an opportunity to meet you personally, and I look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with you.

Sincerely, Joseph L. Castleberry, Ed.D.President

Quick FactsThere are lots of great reasons to choose NU. We list several of them here to provide a brief overview of all that we have to offer. But words will never communicate the richness of our university experience. For that, you’ll just have to visit. We’d be glad to arrange a campus tour and hope to meet you soon.

WHY NORTHWEST UNIVERSITY?

Page 4: Northwest University International Student Guide 2015

Something happens when you leave home for the first time and move into one of our residence halls. You might enter with a little trepidation. But not for long. You study together. You play together. You pray together. And—before you know it—you begin to realize something: This isn’t just a university. This is your home away from home.

A PLACE THAT WELCOMES

Page 5: Northwest University International Student Guide 2015

You aren’t just looking for an education. You’re looking for an exceptional one. At NU, we are accredited at the highest level. Our classes are not easy, but excellence never is. Once you graduate, you’ll realize that you have been prepared for more than a career. You’ve been prepared to make your mark in the world.

ACADEMICS THAT CHALLENGE

At most colleges, you don’t spend much time with your professors. Here, we keep class sizes small—13:1. Our distinguished faculty will engage your intellect and challenge you with new ideas. Their doors are open. Their hearts are open. And they’ll become an inspiring and significant part of your university experience here.

FACULTY THAT ENGAGE

WATCH OUR EAGLES SOARWe compete in the Cascade Collegiate Conference of the NAIA. Our athletes have won conference championships and have been selected as Academic All-Americans. But our coaches also teach the importance of winning off of the field. They understand that long after a student’s athletic career is over, it is lessons of character that will shape these men and women throughout their lives.
