NORTHERN MONK currently has Refectory sites in Leeds and Manchester, and they’re looking to open five more UK locations. In March, Northern Monk launched a crowdfunding campaign where the brewery surpassed its £500,000 target in just 3 hours, with the funding closing at a total of £1.5m. This was one of the most successful brewery crowdfunding campaigns in history and has allowed them to fast-track this expansion. The brewery has gone from strength-to-strength since opening its first Refectory site, a Grade II listed mill in Leeds, in October 2014. They opened their second tap room in a listed building in Manchester’s Northern Quarter in September 2018, which has already surpassed opening projections.
