As their relationship grows, she observes Brian’s crippling subservience to the abusive psychotherapist with growing alarm. Stars John Cusack and Paul Dano in a critically acclaimed performance. If you really want to make a friend, go to someone’s house and eat with him… the people who give you their food give you their heart.”- Cesar Chavez. Invasions and conflicts around South America, the Middle East, Africa, Russia and the Far East have contributed to the increase of immigration to Australia. People have arrived from many corners of the globe, carrying minimal, if any, belongings - but bringing the treasure that is their culture and Grandma’s recipes. It is these recipes that we are able to appreciate and celebrate at our delicious and colourful Pop Up Dinner. The House of Welcome chefs will serve up delicious food from their homelands – recipes that have travelled across oceans, from other lands to Australia and onto our plates at the Centre, as part of Refugee Week. We hope you can join us, bookings essential.

These joyful, playful and expressive Music and Movement classes for children have a proud history of successfully running for over 30 years at the North Sydney Community Centre. The program focuses on the vital introduction of the children’s auditory, visual and physical responses to music, building on many of the multi-tasking skills required for instrumental playing. We listen, sing and move expressively, creatively and rhythmically. We discover the wonders of sound and we use age appropriate instruments. Classes are play based and experiential, enhancing the children’s innate understanding of music before the task based nature of instrumental learning commences. This also provides a solid platform for the child’s comprehensive development. The integrity of the program is still recognised by many families including professional musicians, who have enrolled their children for years. To enrol visit www.bridgestomusic.com.au/enrolment or contact Jane Boyd 0403 470 101.
